In view of the current Covid-19 situation and the vaccination rate, the management of BVV Trade Fairs Brno has been forced to cancel this year's SALIMA food fair, the Food Technology Fair SALIMATECH, the Fair of Equipment for Retail Trade, Hotels and Catering Facilities G+H, the Milling Industry, Bakery and Confectionery Fair MBK, the VINEX fair and the Fair for Packaging and Printing EmbaxPrint, which were scheduled for 28 to 30 June 2021.

 „Due to the still uncertain situation, we are forced to end the preparations for the traditional trade fairs for the food industry and equipment for hotels and restaurants. The reason is to eliminate the risk of failed investments on the part of exhibitors and us as the organizer. We also considered the unfavorable economic situation of hotels and restaurants as a target group, which was strongly affected by the long-term closure of their establishments," said Jiří Kuliš, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno. 

"The Salima trade fair is one of the traditional events. Due to the fact that it cannot take place this year, food producers will lose, for example, the possibility of a personal meeting and establishing new business contacts. This is obviously unfavorable for the food industry, but at the moment we have to take into account the restrictions due to the COVID-19 infection and respect the government's measures," said Jindřich Fialka, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, responsible for the Section of Food and Agriculture.

"Together with our partners, we are considering the presentation of selected food industries within the Fair for Animal Production ANIMAL TECH, which will be held between 5th and 8th September, 2021, concurrently with the National Show of Livestock. We give SALIMA exhibitors the opportunity to present machines and technologies for the dairy and meat industries," adds Lucie Vymazalová, director of the ANIMAL TECH fair.

The new date for the food fairs and the EmbaxPrint fair in 2022 will be set after thorough discussions with sectoral associations, major partners and a survey among exhibitors.

Sectoral associations, major partners and exhibitors consider the SALIMA / SALIMA Technology / MBK / G + H / VINEX / EmbaxPrint fair complex to be an important presentation platform and support its holding.

"The professional complex of the EmbaxPrint and SALIMA trade fairs has a long tradition and cannot be replaced by an event in any other form. Our Packaging Live project is a live presentation of technologies, so we are looking forward to seeing you all again in person,” added Michaela Zachová, organizer of the Packaging Live project from Equicom, s.r.o.
