Brief characteristics of the exhibit
The Okuma Armroid is a truly unique symbiosis of machine and automation. This system is the answer to the request for automation of low batch to single piece production. The custom made robotic arm for workpiece handling is in addition capable of performing a variety of supportive activities e.g. chatter suppression, precise coolant flow to the cutting point. Such capabilities may significantly improve the quality and stability of metal cutting. Another major advantage is the complete integration of the robotic arm’s control into the machine’s control system.
