International Stainless Steel Congress and Fair

Interest in steel fair STAINLESS Brno is growing

For the third time, a specialized stainless steel fair is prepared at the Brno Exhibition Centre, attended by Czech and foreign specialists. STAINLESS 2013 will be held from 14 to 15 May 2013 as the most important presentation of the industry in Central Europe. Hall F, the new venue of the fair for the first time, is almost filled half a year in advance.

The STAINLESS Fair has an exceptional position in the Brno Exhibition Calendar. It is a meeting of experts in the field of stainless and special steels, which is held once every two years. In Europe, only two highly specialized trade fairs are being held and STAINLESS has no comparison in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Therefore, foreign clientele is predominant among exhibitors. The last edition in May 2011 had 133 companies from 16 countries exhibiting and the proportion of foreign exhibitors reached 78%. Among the 1,032 registered visitors, 29% were foreign and came from 28 countries on three continents.

Great interest has already been shown in the participation in the seventh edition of the STAINLESS fair. More than six months before the event, an exhibition area has been reserved by 90 exhibitors. Among them, there are leaders such as APERAM Stainless Services & Solutions Germany, ThyssenKrupp Nirosta, Marcegaglia, Montanstahl and others. Applications for participation have already arrived from ten countries; the largest representation so far is taken up by Germany, Italy and India.

Due to the growing interest of exhibitors, the STAINLESS fair moves from hall B to a larger hall F. Although more space for exhibitions remains, the most popular areas are filling up quickly. Who wants to choose a convenient location should not therefore hesitate with application.

The fair also includes the professional STAINLESS Congress, which will take place directly adjacent to exhibitors’ stands in Hall F. STAINLESS Leading domestic and foreign experts regularly participate in the congress and lecture on current topics in the field. The audience will hear the latest data on production and trade, information about new applications of stainless steels as well as technologies to improve their performance. In 2011, the congress had 135 participants, among them 30% from abroad.

Uniqueness of the STAINLESS Fair lies in its narrow focus on the industry. It is visited only by registered specialists, professionals in the field of stainless and special steels. Thanks to this, participation of exhibitors can be highly effective and within two days, they can have dozens of meetings with potential business partners from all over the region. "We have acquired new contacts from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland or Germany and also clients from Italy, Turkey and the Arab countries came to us," Acerinox Poland CEO Senise Pilar Garcia praised the quality visitor clientele of the STAINLESS Fair 2011. Norbert Stralek, CEO of German company Stralek Steel, who are the European partner of  Indian steel supplier JSL Stainless Similarly, expressed his view similarly: "We have found many new customers here, some from Western Europe, but mostly from Eastern European countries, namely the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia , Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Ukraine, and some even from Turkey. This fair is a kind of gateway to Central Europe for us and also a good opportunity to move in new directions. "

The most strongly represented groups of exhibits include products of stainless steels, stainless steel itself and works and products of corrosion resistant steels for selected areas of industry and end-use. These are followed by steel products and semi-finished products of stainless steels. The nomenclature of the fair also includes machinery and equipment for the treatment and processing of stainless steels, the necessary raw materials or products of foundries, forges and mills of stainless steel. Also exhibitors with computer, testing and measurement equipment for the area of stainless steel, industry research and services can apply.

A biennial International Stainless Steel Trade Fair and Congress STAINLESS already found its tradition in the Czech Republic. It was first held in 2001 at the exhibition centre in Ostrava, from where it moved to the better suited Brno Exhibition Centre with its capacity and facilities after four years. Participating companies welcomed the move and from 2009 STAINLESS increased its scope and prestige. Beside the quality of the exhibition premises, Brno also offers better transport links and thus the possibility of reaching more foreign experts. A survey realized during the last edition, exhibitors particularly appreciated the high professional level of the fair and its quality organization, nearly 70% of respondents did not lack any visitor group.
