International Motor Show
Third generation ŠKODA Octavia featured as one of the top releases at this year’s Brno motor show
This year, the International Motor Show AUTOSALON BRNO will take place for the first time in early spring between 4th – 8th April.
This change has been a result of discussions between car manufacturers and importers who can optimally use this timing to present spring releases shortly after the Geneva Motor Show. Thus, BRNO will naturally open the 2013 sale season. Thanks to the cooperation with the new consumer survey, the Brno Exhibition Centre will host historically the highest number of models for visitors‘ testing.
Hall P will house exhibits of most car makes. A dominant exhibition stand will be presented by Škoda Auto, with the main showcased models being Octavia and Octavia Combi that will premiere in Geneva. Škoda Auto will also present other limited-edition car versions including the Yeti model in Laurin & Klement design. Other makes to be mentioned include, for example, Ford with its central exhibits being Fiesta ST, B-MAX, Kuga, Transit and Tourneo Custom models. Other car manufacturers are to present both the limited-edition versions and Geneva launches.
The main part of the supporting programme features MOTORSPORT EXPO, a trade fair designed for experts on motorsport in Hall Z. The technological part of this event will be open on Thursday and Friday, the race teams’ exhibits will be open throughout the show.
The motorsport fans will undoubtedly appreciate the autograph signing of car racers Michal Matějovský and Petr Fulín (ETCC), David Vršecký and Adam Lacko (truck racing) at the Automotodrom Brno exhibit. Michal Matějovský’s BMW for this year’s season will also be on display.
Free test rides offered to the visitors and taking place along a 2km circuit at the exhibition centre are yet another part of AUTOSALON at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Škoda Auto has confirmed its participation in this programme with Octavia and Rapid models. Thanks to the cooperation with the new survey entitled ”The car I would buy“ there will be about three dozens models to be offered for test rides at the exhibition centre.
The visitors to AUTOSALONU BRNO will certainly welcome the used car programme guaranteed by the manufacturer exhibited in a separate hall.
Friday, 5th April, will be dedicated to alternative car fuels under the sponsorship of Unie elektromobility. Monday, 8th April, will offer a programme for fleet customers.
AUTOSALON BRNO will be open daily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., and until 4 p.m. on the last day. The Press and Trade Day will take place on 4th April, between 9 a.m., and 2 p.m. at a higher admission fee. The basic admission fee is CZK 160, discounts are available for family pass holders, participants to weekend events (6th – 7th April) at the Masaryk Circuit and visitors registered at autosalonbrno.cz
