Fair of renewable energy sources in agriculture and forestry
BIOMASA – energy use of renewable sources
From 8 to 12 April 2018, the next edition of the BIOMASS Trade Fair for Renewable Sources of Energy in Agriculture and Forestry will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre. It will be held concurrently with the SILVA REGINA International Forestry and Hunting Fair and the TECHAGRO International Fair of Agricultural Technology. The entire complex of agricultural and forestry fairs in Brno is one of the largest events of its kind in Europe.
The BIOMASS trade fair is closely related to the SILVA REGINA forestry section, the exhibitors' displays focus on the processing and energy utilization of timber mass, as well as technologies for the utilization of waste from livestock production or composting. Firewood processing is also well represented at the fair. The BIOMASS trade fair is located on the ground floor of Hall Z and its surroundings; other exhibitors from the field of use of agricultural waste for energy generation purposes or composting technologies will expect their visitors in the halls designated to the TECHAGRO trade fair.
Exhibition stands will feature splitting machines, cutting saws, equipment for handling logs, crushing or debarking. Boilers for biomass combustion will be presented at several stands in Hall Z – brands such as VIADRUS, ROJEK, ATMOS, Kovarson, Heizomat. Additional exhibitors come with agripellet technologies. These machines produce pellets from green waste and fast-renewable natural sources and are primarily intended for farmers. Exhibitors have also signed up with technologies for biogas stations, composting or chipping.

Hall for sideline programmes directly adjacent to the stands
In 2018, the organizers decided to place a lounge for sideline programmes of the BIOMASA fair in the ground floor of Hall Z directly adjacent to the exhibitors' stands. The sideline programme will focus on the energy use of forest biomass in particular, most programmes will take place on Monday and Wednesday.
Grand Prix with a new category
The TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA and BIOMASS trade fairs will once again feature the traditional GRAND PRIX competition, in which an expert jury will award the best of the exhibits entered. The SOIL WATER RETENTION FRIENDLY award will newly be given, which will be received by exhibits improving the retention capacity of soil. The Brno agricultural and forestry fairs use this innovation to highlight everything that may contribute to sustainable economy.
For individual visitors, it is best to buy tickets on the website; the cheapest admission applies for organized groups of more than 15 people, which can even visit the fair free of charge on 12 April.
