Great attention is paid to biomass during these four trade fairs, not only at the separate BIOMASS fair, Techagro and Silva Regina trade fairs are also interested. The open area in front of the Hall Z features daily demonstrations of wood processing machines by large companies in this field. Ten of them are there every day at 10.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00 and demonstrate shredding, chopping wood, etc. in practice. These includes companies such as Karlow-Karlshof, Dřevopodnik, Bandit, Agama, Malcom, Hammel, Some, Jenz. The demonstrations are particularly of interest for entrepreneurs in this field, which has been starting to gain momentum in the Czech Republic in the last two years.

Biomass is also the subject of a rich accompanying programme, with lectures focusing among other things on the development of the biomass market in the Czech Republic, logging residues in the Forests of the Czech Republic company, production and application of energy chips in the CR, complex processing of logging residues, etc. Part of the programme is devoted to the new legislation concerning biogas transformation, strategic possibilities of using agricultural biomass energy, geothermal energy use in biogas plants, etc.

A representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Tereza Musilová spoke for example about the strategic options of the energy use of agricultural biomass in the Czech Republic. The main objective of the Action Plan for the period 2012-2020 biomass is to link the strategic priority use of agricultural land to ensure food security of the country with the possibility of effective utilization of the remaining potential of agricultural and forestry land for energy use. In determining the energy potential of biomass, beside the said food production another biomass role was taken into account, i.e. as raw material for industrial use.
