Record-breaking Minerals Brno will present important Moravian discovery sites
Hundreds of interesting pegmatites will be seen at the exhibition "Significant mineralogical sites of South Moravia", which will accompany the Autumn Minerals Brno fair. On 17 and 18 of November, all those who want to take a look at the best of the Moravian sites should head to the Brno Exhibition Centre.
The exhibition will offer a show of often unique specimens, both in colour and size. In addition to raw minerals, people can also look forward to an extraordinary exposure of large facets from West Moravian pegmatite sites.
Minerals Brno fair is also an ideal place for visitors to buy Christmas presents. This year's selection of more than 230 vendors from fifteen countries is the largest in the history of the event.
Minerals from around the world will be available here. The exhibitors will be bringing for example bicoloured fluorites from China or interesting calcite clusters, there will also be a choice of handmade jewels.
While parents go about their shopping, children can enjoy explosive fun at the exhibition of the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno. Their staff will bring along an interactive model of a volcano and rocks that are formed by volcanic activity. Visitors will see in what part of the volcano the stones are created. Brno locals will also learn about the rocks that they walk every day and whether there was a volcano in the city in the past.
The organizers have also prepared benefits for the visitors. For example, special admission prices to the Alfons Mucha: Two Worlds exhibition. To get a ticket at the price of 200 CZK, present the ticket to Minerály Brno at the ticket office of Hall H during the weekend of 17 and 18 November. A cheaper visit can also be enjoyed by visitors heading to the VIDA! Science Centre. From 17 to 25 November, they can get a 20% discount on any ticket.
Minerals Brno fair is open from 9am. On Saturday 17 November, closing time is at 6 pm, on Sunday 18 November at 16.30. The basic ticket costs 100 CZK and can be bought online as well, children and pensioners pay half-price. Comfortable parking is available for 20 CZK per hour at Expoparking, opposite the entrance to Hall E.
