International Sales Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils, Jewels and Natural Products
MINERALS BRNO exhibition along with the tasting of wines entered in the GRAND PRIX VINEX competition
During the weekend of 21 to 22 May 2016, Hall B of the Brno Exhibition Centre will be the venue of the 34th International Sales Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils, Jewels and Natural Products MINERALS BRNO. The exhibition currently registered 190 exhibitors mostly from the Czech Republic, as well as Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Germany, India, Italy and Pakistan.
The exhibition will offer an
opportunity to display and buy jewellery and artistic jewellery, dressed
stones, collection stones, fossils, natural items, decorative items and home
accessories made of precious stones and minerals; specialised literature or
mineralogical and geological equipment. Another attraction will be located on
the gallery of the pavilion: a sales exhibition of "images with a
soul" by Pavla Nováková.
The exhibitors’ stands will
showcase collection minerals from Czech and foreign locations, gemstones and
jewellery from Peru, moldavites and jewellery made of moldavites and Czech
garnets, cut gemstones and many other items. Artistic jewellery will be
represented by pewter jewellery with precious stones and minerals, jewellery
made of surgical steel, original jewellery with genuine gemstones, in old
copper and jewellery produced using various techniques.

MINERALS BRNO will be combined with wine tasting
Visitors will have the opportunity not only to admire and buy jewellery or stones for their collection, but also taste the wines entered into the GRAND PRIX VINEX 2016 competition. A public tasting of competing wines will be held in parallel with the Minerals Brno exhibition on the gallery of Hall B.
GRAND PRIX VINEX 2016 - winemakers will compete for the Champion title
On 3 and 4 May 2016, the National Wine Centre in Valtice will hold an expert evaluation of the 23rd International Wine Competition, GRAND PRIX VINEX. The competition aims to assess and reward the best European and world wine with a market presence in the Central European region on a high professional level.
The best wines will also get a medal: 84 points for the silver medal, 87 points for a gold medal and 90 points for the grand gold medal. There will also be the "Champion" contest, category winners, the best collection and national winners for the countries that registered at least 10 wines. Winners of the main prizes will also enjoy prestigious glass goblets from a respected artist Bořek Šípek. The wine producer with the "Champion" title will also receive professional wine cooler from the competition partner, the company THERMOTECHNIKA BOHEMIA.
This year, a total of 591 wine samples from 100 applicants from 16 wine-producing countries will be presented, which is a record number in the history of the competition and it is also the largest number of wine-producing countries at wine competitions in the country. Most wines are from the Czech Republic, there are also wines from Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Argentina, France, Hungary, Chile, USA, South Africa, Moldova, Greece, Croatia, Russia, Romania and Poland.
The wines will be judged by an international committee of top sommeliers using ELWIS, a computerized evaluation system platform developed by the National Wine Centre. In addition to evaluators from the Czech Republic, tasters from Slovakia, Hungary and Austria will also join the jury.
An Opportunity to get acquainted with the competition wines will be just at the Brno Exhibition Centre during the Minerals Brno exhibition on 21 and 22 May 2016 on the gallery in Hall B. Tasting of competition wines is also open to MINERALS BRNO visitors and exhibitors.
