International Sales Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils, Jewels and Natural Products

November MINERALS BRNO 2013 exhibition with a large number of exhibitors

 

 

This year, the International Sales Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils, Jewels and Natural Products, MINERALS BRNO, will take place between 16th and 17th November 2013 for the 29th time.  The exhibitors expressed great interest in this year’s Mineral Brno exhibition held in November– their number so far has been record-breaking in the fair’s history.  Hall B  at the Brno Exhibition Centre will be filled up  - participation has been confirmed by almost 200  exhibitors coming mainly from the Czech Republic as well as from Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, Germany, India, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania.

The supporting exhibition will be dedicated to the most interesting Slovak localities.

 Exhibitors’ new and interesting items

 The visitors to the Minerals Brno exhibition can look forward to jewelleries, designer jewels, and worked stoned, as well as collector‘s stones, fossils, natural materials and thematic literature  -such as the new book titled PRECIOUS STONES OF ANCIENT CIVILISATIONS – this book can be bought directly from the author. What will also be offered for sale are various products made of precious stones, decorations and home accessories.

 The exhibition will offer demonstrations of designer jewel making,  such as jewels made using wire-wrapping, fusing and tiffany techniques, original jewels made of tin and jewels made of the Larimar stone from the Dominican Republic, precious stones and jewellery from Peru, jewels with Czech garnets and moldavites, corals from the Solomon Islands, fossils and minerals from Morocco, new minerals from Madagascar and new material interesting for collectors, coming from  Russia – tourmalines and meteorites.

 

Supporting exhibition will introduce the variety of Slovak minerals

The supporting exhibition  focusing on the most interesting  localities in Slovakia will offer almost 600 samples of minerals and processed stones, including minerals from  magnesite deposits such as druses of calcite, dolomite, magnesite and palygorskite, typical Slovak minerals such  as libethenite, euchroite, mrazekite, langite, tirolite, celestite, aragonite, kermezite, schafarzikite and others; definitely, minerals from Dobšiná (asbestos, aragonite, garnets, crystallised arsenides) and Železník will stand out.

 Slovak localities with precious and decorative stoned will certainly attract attention with  examples of various types of opals.  Raw and cut opals from important localities such as  Dargov, Herĺany, Banské and Dubník u Prešova (renowned precious opal deposit) and opalised wood from the surroundings of Banská Bystrica (Povrazník, Strelníky) will be on display.  

 The exhibition of Slovak localities will be complemented by flurite exhibits from northern Spain and chalcedons from Ahníkov.

 The visitors can also look forward to a competition for prizes in the field of precious metals and precious stones and products made ​​from them.
