In view of the current situation and the persisting uncertainty in the development of the pandemic in the first half of this year, the management of BVV Trade Fairs Brno has been forced to cancel this year's Interior Design Fair MOBITEX. The next edition of the fair which offers an overview of housing, inspiration and meetings with experts, will take place on February 23–26, 2022.

"Without the prospect of easing restrictions on mass events by the end of April, it is not possible to prepare and organize the trade fair in the current uncertain circumstances. Unfortunately, the PES matrix (the Czech pandemic score system) classifies trade fairs into the category of incomparable subjects such as zoos, museums and galleries. The very essence of the fair, its essential business role for wholesalers and the need for exchange of information remains misunderstood, even though we have proposed relatively strict safety measures for our trade fairs”, comments Jiří Kuliš, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno. 

"It is impossible to organize the MOBITEX fair in April. We have stopped preparations with regard to reducing the risk of failed investments on the part of exhibitors and us as the organizer", said Martin Videczký, project director. 

Professional associations support the fair

Professional associations, partners and exhibitors consider the MOBITEX trade fair to be an important presentation platform and support its holding. "I am sorry that we are forced to break the tradition of the MOBITEX trade fair, which has been established among furniture makers for many years as an important part of marketing communication. The MOBITEX trade fair is an important source of information on trends and innovations in the field of furniture. It also plays an important role in establishing cooperation between schools and companies, where within the fair supporting program GRAND PRIX MOBITEX  visitors can see presentations of the results of the activities of universities, colleges and high schools. Despite the current situation, I am very pleased to hear that there are enough orders, that the furniture makers have full production capacity and that there is interest in quality Czech furniture. That is why I believe that next year we will continue the tradition and that the MOBITEX 2022 Furniture and Interior Design Fair will be organized in Brno”,  added Lucia Haraslínová, President of the Cluster of Czech Furniture Manufacturers.
