The first day of the breeding, gamekeeping and landscape fairs was a success
Good weather, visitors' interest and official events, including the opening ceremony, were the main happening of the first day of the National Show of Livestock, the ANIMAL TECH fair, the National Gamekeeping Show and the NATUR EXPO BRNO Fair.
The National Show is a tribute to Czech breeding
Livestock production is at the top level in the Czech Republic and has a high export potential. Representatives of agricultural organizations agreed on this at the beginning of all concurrently held events – the National Show of Livestock, the ANIMAL TECH and NATUR EXPO BRNO trade fairs and the National Gamekeeping Show.
Award for the best ANIMAL TECH 2017 exhibits
At the ceremonial opening of the trade fairs, Gold Medals were handed over to four winners of the best exhibit of the year competition. At the same time, the awards of editorial boards of three media partners were granted.
As part of the National Show of Livestock you will also see sheep, goats and pigs
At the National Show of Livestock representatives of almost all the breeds farmed in the Czech Republic will be on display. There will be some nine hundred head of livestock exhibited. Not only cattle and horses will be presented, but also sheep, goats and pigs. In the small showground in Pavilion P you can look forward to the following accompanying programme...
Horses will display carriage racing disciplines, show jumping and traditional farm harnesses
At the 2017 National Show of Livestock horses will be found in Hall G1 and its surroundings. The exhibited horses will be stabled in boxes by Hall G1, and a horse paddock will be created between Hall s Z and G1. Here visitors will be able to take a look at the exhibited horses (more than 100 horses from eleven breeds). Demonstrations of sporting disciplines and other activities with horses will take place in Hall G, where half of the building will be taken up with a large showground with two stands for visitors.
Holstein Cattle from 20 Breeders will be Presented at the Exhibition
At this year’s National Show of Livestock the National Championship of Holstein Cattle will be held to choose the champion and vice-champion for this breed for 2017. The association as is traditional will be ensuring maximum objectivity by bringing in an international referee for this competition which is open to all breeders of Holstein cattle in the Czech Republic.
In Hall P visitors will see a total of 366 head of beef cattle
As in previous years Hall P will be dominated by beef cattle, with this year a total of 366 head being exhibited. The largest number of these will be Aberdeen Angus with 69 head, then the Limousin with 61 head, and third place will be the Charolais with 40 head.
The ANIMAL TECH Trade Fair and the National Show of Livestock Target Professionals in the Field of Animal Production
In the period 11–14/5/2017 the National Show of Livestock together with the first ANIMAL TECH International Fair for Animal Production will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre.
Accompanying program will focus on a specific group of livestock each day
A part of the ANIMAL TECH International Fair for Animal Production and National show of livestock is also a rich accompanying programme, focusing each day on a specific group of livestock. On Thursday attention is given to beef cattle, on Friday to Holstein cattle, while on Saturday the main role will be taken by sheep, goats and pigs, and on Sunday Simmental cattle and horses.
Eleven horse breeds to be shown at the exhibition grounds
Eleven horse breeds will be introduced in Hall G as part of the National Show of Livestock, including Czech national breeds (Bohemian-Moravian Belgian Horse, Hucul, Silesian Noriker, Starokladruby Horse, and Czech Warmblood).
