OPTA 2020: High time to sign up
Preparations for the largest Czech gathering of professionals who care for the quality of sight, the 26th OPTA International Eye Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology Fair are in full swing and application documents are ready for prospective exhibitors. Deadline associated with price privileges is set to 18 October 2019.
And what can exhibitors and visitors look forward to from 13 to 15 March 2020?
"The biggest change next year is the return to the newly renovated Hall B, which, thanks to its location next to Gate 4, brings advantages in terms of logistics for both exhibitors and visitors," said OPTA director Gabriela Císařová.
“But we certainly want to keep things that have worked out well before and on which we have had no negative feedback. Exhibitors will certainly be pleased by the re-introduction of an incentive deal – on ordering a larger exhibition area compared to 2019, they will be charged only CZK 500,- for each additional square meter; visitors can look forward to the popular exhibition of exhibitors' products Design&Trend,” Císařová added.
Hall B will once again host, directly between the stands, the OPTA Forum, where people can learn about the latest news in the sector through specialist lectures.
Concerning trade visitors, the organizers confirmed that they would inform them about any news in time by means of e-letters. However, the already established things will not change, hence, it will be possible to use the OPTA Club Card for entry – it entitles its holder to one free admission to the fair. The highlighted topic of the 2020 fair will be "Quality of Vision for all Generations".
"We spoke intensely about the highlighted topic of the next year with the co-organizer of the fair, the Association of Czech Opticians and Optometrists and representatives of exhibitors. We believe that this issue can be grasped by each of the exhibitors their own way and provide visitors with high-quality information," Císařová added.
Jubilee 25th OPTA – looking back at OPTA 2019
The 25th season of OPTA was a success. Leading suppliers to the Czech and Slovak markets met eye opticians in a professional environment, introduced new collections of spectacle frames and sunglasses, and introduced them to innovations in the area of corrective and contact lenses and instrumentation. Demand for eye optics goods is driven by the ongoing growth of the economy, together with population aging and increased requirements on the quality of vision due to the digitalisation of society. For 25 years, OPTA has been a place where dealers from the Czech and Slovak Republics have come to learn about the latest news in the sector and make new contracts. According to a market analysis, almost all suppliers of optical goods to the Czech and Slovak Republics were represented at the fair. The exhibition stands featured innovations of 167 brands, especially the current collection of spectacle frames and sunglasses, corrective lenses, contact lenses, optical and ophthalmological instruments and related goods. The co-organizer of the fair was the Association of Czech Opticians and Optometrists, expert partners were the Optical Union of Slovakia and the Czech Contactological Society. The exhibitors' stands were visited by 5,446 visitors from 17 countries, of which 503 came from abroad.
