Presidents of key professional associations SČOO, OÚS and ČKS wished the participants of the 23^rd run of the OPTA fair successful business and time well spent at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The fair’s year-on-year area increased by 16%, the Hall V hosts 161 exhibiting companies and 250 brands represented.

The official opening ceremony started with Trade Fairs Brno CEO Jiří Kuliš who welcomed everyone and thanked the opticians for their commendable and much-needed work and wished the exhibitors a successful fair in the new beautiful setting of Hall V. He also thanked them for taking the opportunity of a larger and more modern Hall V to expand their exhibits that take up area larger than last year by 500 m².

Václav Antonín, President of Association of Czech Opticians and Optometrists,  the fair co-organizer, then took the stage to wish business success to the OPTA fair and good time, new experience, knowledge and business to its visitors. He also invited the visitors to the traditional social part of the fair – the OPTA PARTY. Pavel Moravec, President of the partner organization, the Slovak Optical Union, emphasized that he likes to go back to the Brno trade fair every year: “OPTA is very important for the optical public as the only place where professionals are able to gather together and get to know the innovatios coming to the Czech and Slovak markets. That is why the Slovak Optical Union is a partner of this fair and I think it will continue this partnership for a long time.” The third person to bid the visitors welcome was the President of the Czech Contactology Society, Jiří Michálek. He was impressed by OPTA entering the beautiful age of 23 and bringing the visitors many innovations in the field of eye optics and contactology yet again. Innovations have their spotlight in the form of already 12^th run of the competition for the best exhibits TOP OPTA. All of the fourteen exhibits registered for the competition this year have been introduced at the opening ceremony and the visitors can have a closer look at them in the display windows at the OPTA Forum in Hall V. Winners of the competition will be announced at the award ceremony on Saturday night at the OPTA PARTY in SONO Centrum.
