Dear exhibitors,

We would like to inform you that, due to the announced absence of key exhibitors and a survey carried out among exhibitors, we are forced to move the OPTA 2020 fair to a later date this year. Hereby we respect the requirement of a major prevailing part of exhibitors, although today from the perspective of the Regional Sanitation Authority, OPTA  is not considered a risk and is not prohibited, but it may happen in the coming days according to the development of the situation.

Our decision takes into account the overall latest "force majeur" situation in the context of the development of the COVID19 epidemic in Europe, which has resulted in the worries of most exhibiting firms about lack of customers due to business trip restrictions and recommendation to refrain from attendance at mass events such as conventions or expos. In the case of foreign brands, their absence is due to severe restrictive regulations of their foreign headquarters.

The postoponed date of the fair will be set as soon as possible.

OPTA is the most important specialised presentation of eye optics and ophthalmology in the Central and Eastern European region. OPTA is co-organised by the Association of Czech Opticians and Optometrists. During the twelve years that this trade fair has been running at the Brno Exhibition Centre, both the exhibition area and the number of exhibitors have since grown four times lerger. The OPTA trade fair is not just a presentation of top fashion spectacle frames, glasses and contact lenses. Neither is it just about the technology or equipment used, but it also serves as a centre of education, offering numerous specialised lectures and seminars, including the OPTA International Congress for Optics and Optometry Educators and Professionals.
