Come and try parasports! Emil Sport Arena is expecting you
The Emil Endowment Fund is preparing a special Emil Sport Arena for you at REHAPROTEX, which will be open for you every day of the fair and will present a range of activities for the disabled. You can meet para-sportspeople who will be happy to show you what they are really good at - whether it be floorball, rugby, basketball or para hockey, para golf, curling, boccia or futsal for the blind. In addition, you will can try all the sports yourself and ask whatever you are interested in.
The Emil Endowment Fund is a non-profit organization that helps children and young people with handicaps to play sports, but it also participated in the creation of a book titled www.bez-bot.cz, which tells the story of a freshly handicapped teenager. The book was nominated for the Annual Gold Ribbon Award 2019 in the category Fiction for Youth. Its author Ivona Březinová will present the book at the fair and read a sample. You can also buy the book at the fair. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Emil Endowment Fund.
The Emil Sport Arena will also feature a handbike trainer and a wheelchair test track, which will be covered by the ParaCENTRUM Fenix. It will be conceived as an experience track with tasks. You will be prepared for different surfaces such as carpet, towel, various obstacles or simulation of space in an elevator. In addition, along the route, you will perform some practical tasks that wheelchair users face in their daily lives. For example, you can bring a tray with a glass from one point to another, or pull your wallet with winter gloves on your hands from your backpack and then pull coins out of it.
