Fashion in Brno celebrates 50!
STYL and KABO fashion fairs have been held for 25 years, and the jubilee will be celebrated from 19 to 21 August, with 780 clothing, textiles, footwear and leather brands. The Czech manufacturers, whose goods are ever more in demand, will be represented by 75 firms. Sixty-two companies will bring their collections to Brno for the very first time. As expected, more than five thousand professional visitors, i.e. mainly traders and buyers, will come to look at them. This time, their attention will be focused on collections for spring and summer 2018.
The STYL trade fair traditionally occupies the largest Hall P, where 158 exhibitors from 13 countries will offer 447 collections of women’s, men's and children's clothing, leisure fashion, clothes, accessories and costume jewellery. Exhibitors of footwear and leather goods will welcome visitors in the neighbouring Hall V. At the KABO fair, 95 exhibitors from 11 countries will present collections and models of 333 brands.
For over 25 years, STYL and KABO have helped launch a long line of well-known and established brands. Some of them went on their way, but many companies remained faithful to the trade fairs, and the presentation in Brno became a firm part of their business strategy. The most loyal exhibitors, who have not missed almost any of the 50 previous years, will be given a special award from the organizers. The STYL trade fair there will feature three such Czech companies: Lamido, producer of nightwear, pyjamas and functional linen; producer of men's and women's clothing H&D Prostějov, and MODĚVA clothing company from Konice, a brand famous for their elegant women's coats. The most faithful exhibitors at KABO include PROTETIKA, a Slovak manufacturer of healthy and orthopaedic footwear; the distributor of the Swiss shoe brand RIEKER Bohemia and ANEKTA, a wholesale merchant of leather goods.
The round jubilee at the Brno trade centre will include congratulations by the stars of Czech and Slovak clothing design. Many designers of renowned names have begun their successful career at this very event and this year they are returning with a collection for the retail network. The E.daniely brand or the designer duo Eva Janoušková and Daniela Flejšarová will bring a new collection in fresh spring colours and with cuts flattering the female figure. Lada Vyvialová with her brand LADA fashion focuses on innovative, highly functional materials with a health benefit for the user. Thanks to their silver content, LADA models have antibacterial effects and a UV filter coating that protects the skin.
A special tribute to the fashion fairs and domestic design will be presented at the Sunday fashion show. Czech and Slovak designers who have been featured in the form of a stand or a competition collection at the STYL and KABO fairs in the last 25 years will be presented here, each of them will show two models created specifically for this evening. The participants will include Liběna Rochová, Klára Nademlýnská, Marcel Holubec, Denisa Nová, Lada Vyvialová, Miro Sabo and others. The peak of the show will be the presentation of the current ladies and men's 2017-2018 prêt-à-porter collection by the fashion icon Vivienne Westwood. This collection will be presented in the Czech Republic for the first time.
This year’s innovation, lecture rooms right next to exhibition stands, means that interesting information will be all within reach. Daniel Šmíd, a clothing and tact advisor will reveal the secret of how to communicate through one’s clothing in two Saturday lectures in both halls.
