Fashion trade fairs successful again, this year for the first time with bloggers
The 51st STYL and KABO trade fairs showed trends for the next season in the clothing, textile and footwear industries: the increasing power of bloggers and digital influencers, the demand for sustainable fashion, the invasion of new technologies, and letting the customers be a part of the business and development process. The expositions of 241 exhibitors from more than 18 countries introduced collections of almost 800 fashion brands. In the three days of the trade fair, the new collections attracted approximately five thousand professional visitors, traders and buyers.
We’re not a brand, we create stories, says Saray del Saz, a talented Spanish designer at the STYL trade fair
The talent from Madrid Saray del Saz came to Brno to introduce her unisex collection WELCOME TO UTOPIA. Her personal philosophy is that in fashion, there are no rules and no conventions. “When people buy one of my models, they are not buying just a piece of clothing – they are expressing their way of living. The lifestyle and uniqueness of each and every person is at the core of my work,” says Saray del Saz.
From trends to combinations, from Fast Fashion to values
The traditional trade fair lecture delivered by the Dutch designer Ellen Haeser outlined a new business model for sustainable fashion. Shops can make money both from the constant innovations and modifications of their merchandise, and from the increasing demand for timeless values and pursuit of one’s unique style. Such a concept needs a vision the customers can identify with and which they will themselves want to promote, along with the support of quality service and new technologies.
