STYL and KABO: Everything You Need to Know About Fashion

From Saturday, 27 August, to Monday, 29 August, the Brno Exhibition Centre is going to host the largest contractual fashion show of clothes, fabrics, footwear and accessories on the Czech and Slovak market.  The number of exhibitors has increased yet again and STYL and KABO became the largest they have been in the last 5 years, i.e. 10 runs! The fairs will introduce collections by more than 650 fashion brands and current trends for the season spring/summer 2017.

More than 30 exhibitors both from the Czech Republic and from abroad are going to present their merchandise in Brno for the very first time. The STYL fair is a traditional pathway to the Central-European market for Greek brands, this year represented e.g. by women’s fashion Depolo or Haris Cotton, a brand of men’s and women’s fashion. A trendy Greek brand Le Vertige making women’s fashion has been expanding successfully and you will be able to see it sharing an exhibition stand with another interesting Greek brand called Hype which makes very casual colourful designs in style of the hippie movement. Another Greek newcomer is the brand Vamp that has already established itself on the Czech market and focuses mainly on women’s lingerie and leisure fashion. Together with brands from previous runs, the Greek numbers at the fair will double this August.

Another newcomer is a German brand Gattina, which has been specializing in luxury silk nightwear for 40 years already, or Devergo Jeans that was originally came from Italy but today is located in Hungary and making youth and denim fashion. Another Hungarian company exhibiting at this STYL fair is called GLO-Story (GLO=Green+Love+Open) and they are bringing their wide range of leisure fashion for women, men, children and teenagers. The Italian brand Relish is bringing original women’s fashion to be seen at the Stefi exhibition stand. Another very interesting premiere will be for the German brand Calao which specializes in swimwear that are very successful in many European countries as well as in USA. Another newcomer is a Slovak company Mercato d’Italia that will present the world-renowned luxury brand of women’s and men’s bodywear and swimwear, and you should also definitely check-out the Polish newcomer brand Anabel Arto, representing women’s bodywear, swimwear, beachwear and accessories. Other first-timers are brands High Fashion and Helena Bedrnová.

Companies returning to the Hall P after a break include e.g. company Sanu Babu supplying original fashion from Nepal, Tibet and India. This run will also see faithful traditional exhibitors at the STYL fair such as Anfen, Anita Moravia, Coll Fashion, Donet, Doppler CZ, H & D, Hegler Fashion, Hotex, Luiz, Karpet, Modela, Moděva, Neula Group, Otto Striessnig, Pleas, Ptak, Urban Group and many others.

This summer’s innovation is the traditional talk on trends with an integrated fashion show.  The Dutch trend expert Ellen Haeser will come to Brno again to give her talk on fashion for the upcoming spring/summer season. Same as in February, the seminar will be held directly on the catwalk in Hall P; however, this time the seminar will also feature a commented fashion show of designs representing current trends directly from the exhibitors’ collections that Ellen Haeser selects personally. The talk will be held on Saturday, 27 August, at 2:00 PM, there is no entry fee and simultaneous interpreting will be provided as well as time for questions.

The visitors may also look forward to the traditional series of fashion shows of exhibitors’ collections. The contractual fashion shows of women’s and men’s fashion STYL SHOW will be held every day at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Each day at 11:30, there will be the LINGERIE SHOW, a fashion show of lingerie, nightwear and hosiery, followed by BEACHWEAR SHOW at 11:45 showing swimwear, beachwear and accessories. However, we have one special event planned out – a Sunday show called LUXURY MATERIALS that will interconnect four interesting collections through high-quality materials. A young Czech fashion designer Mirka Horká, winner of the TOP STYL DESIGNER competition in 2011, will present her work; she is one of the few Czech female designers specializing exclusively in men’s fashion. And the cherry on the fashion sundae will be Czech premiere of the latest collections of fashion brands ELLIE SAAB – haute couture, OSCAR DE LA RENTA and ROBERTO CAVALLI.

The supporting programme will again feature a ceremony of Jan Pivečka Foundation Awards to students and young designers in the field of footwear and leather haberdashery, or awarding certificates of high-quality children’s footwear Žirafa.
