Brief characteristics of the exhibit
SDF APP is a software solution for DEUTZ-FAHR tractors in form of an application for tablets, which enables to adjust settings of a tractor via this application. Easy control and setup of the application, connection to the machine via Bluetooth further enhances the easy everyday use of this new technology and administration of tractor data. SDF APP enables to carry out advanced settings of the machine not only during its operation, but also passively without having the machine connected. Adjusted settings are then loaded onto the tractor or can be saved under a separate user profile. By doing so it is possible to save settings for different for different types of attachments and adjust these anytime. It is also possible to create or adjust settings and hand these over to the tractor driver together with the tablet. Such a possibility significantly decreases the requirements on the driver’s skills and assures that the machine is running in economical way. In case of trouble, it is possible to send data and settings to the manager or to the responsible service to get appropriate help or advice. Overall, the SDF APP creates a whole new platform for commanding tractors and its attachments by using a ready-made and affordable technology in order to maximise the use and productivity of the tractors.
Specification of advantages compared to the competitors
SDF APP is a new way of commanding tractors using reliable and available technology. A tablet application enables to set up and consult machine settings without being in the machine itself, hand over these settings to tractor drivers or solve problems with the machine live due to the possibility to send all settings via email. Saved settings can be adjusted anytime even without connection to the machine. Different settings can be saved into user profiles, which reflect the preferences of different drivers or various implements. Moreover, the application can be used throughout the DEUTZ-FAHR tractors so the driver can take his settings with him. Version 2 and higher, which are to come later this year, enable farm managers to load and immediately analyze data from different DEUTZ-FAHR tractors without the necessity to enter them immediately after returning home.
