Brief characteristics of the exhibit
VariLoc is a unique constructional solution for the drive of the harvester chopping drum. The planetary gearbox integrated into the drive pulley enables easy switching of the chopping drum speed from standard 1250 to 800 rpm. In combination with a MaxFlow chopping drum /28 blades/, the range of chaff lengths can be expanded by 53% (4-30 mm). You can easily respond to various requirements for the chaff length without a need for complicated adjustment.
This novel construction gave rise to the OptiMaize comprehensive programme developed by the KRONE company. OptiMaize covers a broad range of individual constructional units, including a VariLoc gearbox. The system facilitates configuration of the forage harvester for silage maize tailored to the needs of each customer.
