Pavilion of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague
Author: Josef Gočár
A two-storey structure of simple cubic shapes was decorated by five sculptures, three of which were part of the facade and two were located in the green area in front of the pavilion. The ground floor, softened by a semi-circular border illuminated by side windows, as well as the high floor with a roof skylight, are both designed as exhibition halls; the entrance lobby with a staircase was built outside as a separate space. The construction was very balanced in its proportions, but its appearance was damaged later by its connection with the adjacent hall.
