International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry
Automation at WOOD-TEC fair
The main theme of this year's Wood-tec is automation, which is a still more frequent solution to the shortage of workforce. Automation makes it possible to reduce demand for labour and in it can replace human workforce altogether in a number of ways. In the engineering part of the fair, visitors will see examples of specific automatic devices that help accelerate work and make it more efficient, saving manpower at the same time.
The Austrian company Felder will present a number of novelties that increase productivity in manufacturing. Visitors will see a new five-axis CNC woodworking centre H350, a nesting CNC machining centre H08, a new type of large-area splitting saw and new types of big edgebanders tempora 60.12 and 60.06. These new products combine improved performance and ease of use compared to older machine types. CNC machines suitable for smaller manufacturers of custom made furniture were prepared by the company Šimek proficentrum. Not only kitchen and living room manufacturers can make their work more efficient with the new GT 800. Its main advantages include working with different types of materials, intuitive control and precise reading of the front and rear sides of the workpiece, which significantly helps prevent errors in the format and subsequent problems in furniture assembly.
The first CNC linear grinder, which allows you to grind the inner contours, corners and deep located surfaces in a single operation, can be seen at stand of the exhibitor ARMINIUS Schleifmittel. Its linear grinder brings significant time and cost savings. A comprehensive solution for saving the workforce is represented by DWS conveyors, which will be brought to Brno by the firm TOS Svitavy with its PWR 412 double spindle ripsaw. Machines to help automate production will also be introduced by the company ROJEK, which manufactures both industrial and craft woodworking machines. A new addition to this year's trade fair is the PF 400S formatting saw, with electromotor extending and tilting of the saw blade, programmable electromotor movement and reading of a longitudinal ruler, which is controlled by a Schneider Electric system with upper control via a touch panel.
Last but not least, the company PANAS will offer its solution to the shortage of qualified workforce through automation: it’s SCM – Author M100 five-axis machining centre, which represents a solution to the current demand for custom production. The company IGM will showcase its Powermatic machines, which are equipped with ideal properties for all joinery projects, no matter how difficult.
