New MAFELL cross-cutting systems KSS 50 cc and KSS 50 18M bl
MAFELL is presenting two new cross-cutting systems: the KSS 50 cc and the KSS 50 18M bl. The premium supplier can now claim the most extensive range of single-handed cross-cutting systems on the market, encompassing seven mains-operated and cordless machines with a cutting depth range of 40 to 82 mm ( 1 9/16 – 3 ¼ inch). The cordless version of the MAFELL cross-cutting system is the first to feature the latest LiHD battery technology delivering 99 Watt-hours (Wh) of electrical energy.
Precision, safety and ease of use are further enhanced by the unprecedented, intelligent LED lighting system of the new MAFELL cross-cutting systems. The LED system automatically adjusts the light intensity depending on the brightness and reflectivity of the workpiece. As a consequence, the operator always has a clear view of the pointer and sawblade, free from both glare and shadows.
When switched off, the two LED spotlights are integrated in the guard, practically out of sight. When the machine is switched on, the LEDs are activated. They continue to illuminate the work for 10 seconds after switching off. If the saw is set down and then moved again within 5 minutes, the lighting comes on automatically.
The new KSS 50 cc can execute cross and miter cuts on the track up to a depth of 52 mm(2 1/16 inch).
Apart from their LED lighting, the cross-cutting systems offer an impressive range of practical features for precision and speed when working. The pointer automatically follows the machine as it is tilted. This ensures that the correct cutting edge is always indicated. By releasing a lock, moreover, the cutting depth for working with or without the guide track is set quickly and reliably on a scale.
The new KSS 50 cc and KSS 50 18M bl can execute cross and miter cuts on the track up to a depth of 52 mm ( 2 1/16 inch). With the cordless cross-cutting system KSS 50 18M bl, the 99 Watt-hours (Wh) delivered by the brushless BLDC motor and new LiHD technology achieve a standard of performance that was previously the preserve of mains-operated machines. This enables the operator to cut shuttering, fascia and soffit boards to size, as well as battens for the supporting structures of roofs and facades. When working on scaffolding or the roof in particular, the relatively low weight of 5.4 kg (11,9 lbs) (5.6 kg (12,3 lbs) for the KSS 50 18M bl with power pack) saves strength and effort compared to machines with larger cutting depths.
By way of its new cross-cutting systems, MAFELL has also provided a solution for cutting the fiberboard used to insulate roofs, ceilings and walls. For this purpose, the channel in the guard has been optimized for the large chip volumes arising with wood fiber insulating materials.
The machines can be detached from the track quickly and easily by releasing the catch. The parallel fence and edge guide enhance control for rip cuts, and when cutting boards the saws can be operated with the MAFELL guide rail system F or the Aerofix F-AF 1 suction clamping system.
The MAFELL cross-cutting system KSS 50 cc is available either in a carrying case or boxed. Included with the cordless version KSS 50 18M bl are the carrying case with two PowerTanks 18M 99 and the charger APS 18M. A stripped-down PURE variant is also available without the PowerTanks or charger. The charger APS 18M, high-speed charger APS 18M+ and PowerTanks 18M 99 can be purchased as accessories. The cross-cutting system KSS 50 18M bl can be powered by any of the 18 Volt rechargeable batteries of other MAFELL power tools.
