International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry
Preparation for WOOD-TEC 2013 is under way
The 13th year of the wood industry fair, WOOD-TEC 2013, which will take place between 22nd – 25th October 2013 at the Brno exhibition centre, is a traditional event held for every wood processing company not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the neighbouring countries. WOOD-TEC is a biannual fair; however, the preparation for next year started immediately after the previous fair. The organisers have processed the statistical data and information about the trade fair and surveys conducted with the exhibitors and visitors during the fair. All the information helps the organisers show and indicate the direction to be taken by next year’s fair and to start up the preparation for further conceptions and development of the next fair.
The exhibitors are given an opportunity and enough time to use traditional discounts on the exhibition space rent if they send in their registration form in time, i.e. before the end of May 2013.
Let us introduce to
you the new WOOD-TEC trade fair team
One of the new things in the next, thirteenth WOOD-TEC

has been appointed the trade fair manager. Project managers are Mr. René Jurčík
and Radek Talafous. The business team has vast experience with organising trade
fairs for BVV Trade Fairs Brno. For a number of years, Mr. Miloň Milčák has
managed the MOBITEX trade fairs (international fair for furniture and interior
design), GO and Regiontour fairs (fairs focusing on travelling and tourism) at
the Brno exhibition centre.
History and a look
back at the last year
The WOOD-TEC trade fair has a rich history and
is one of the traditional trade fairs in the Brno exhibition centre portfolio.
The WOOD-TEC trade fair was established in 1994 by separating wood-processing technologies
from the International Engineering Fair into a position of a separate trade
fair and since the very first year it has demonstrated its vitality and ever
growing potential. Since 1999, WOOD-TEC has started being held biannually
instead of annually as requested by an overwhelming majority of the exhibitors.
Wood-processing industry is a specific sector and the development of methods
and technologies in this sector is not dynamic enough to satisfy dozens of
thousands of professional visitors every year. Throughout its existence, WOOD-TEC has shaped itself up into a
most prestigious event in this sector within the European Union.
Last year, the international fair exhibiting machines, tools and materials for the wood-processing industry WOOD-TEC, taking place between 18th – 21st October 2011 at the Brno exhibition centre, welcomed a total of 477 exhibiting firms and companies from 22 countries. They presented themselves in a net exhibition area of 10,711 square metres. The trade fair was visited by 14,089 professionals from 21 countries.
