New MAFELL MT 55 18M bl plunge-cut saw
The MAFELL plunge-cut saw MT 55 cc has already set the standard in its class for precision, power and convenience. Among its still peerless features are a hinged sawblade guard and a slot for accommodating the guide rails of a variety of manufacturers. Powered by the latest generation of 18 Volt batteries, the plunge-cut saw MT 55 18M bl now enables users to undertake assembly work independently of the mains power supply.

The 99 Watt-hours (Wh) delivered by the brushless BLDC motor and new LiHD technology achieve a standard of performance that was previously the preserve of mains-operated machines. These attributes facilitate the fatigue-free, fast and, above all, precise sawing of wood and composite materials with a maximum cutting depth of 57 mm ( 2 ¼ inch). The convenient plunging mechanism makes work easier when operating the saw on the guide rail. Gypsum wallboards and other materials containing minerals can be cut practically dust-free thanks to the enclosed sawblade.

Powered by the latest generation of 18 Volt batteries, the MAFELL plunge-cut saw MT 55 18M bl now enables users to undertake assembly work independently of the mains power supply.

The scoring function enables the saw to cut coated and painted surfaces without tearing – even if the rubber lip of the guide rail is worn. Apart from the precision afforded by a guide rail, exact cuts are still ensured when sawing free-hand owing to the machine’s tracking pointer. The correct cutting depth is indicated by the gauge, irrespective of whether the saw is being operated with or without a rail.

Manual fine adjustments can also be made to set the cutting depth to within one-tenth of a millimeter. A position indicator enhances precision as the saw enters the work.

And never before has it been so easy to change blades – the sawblade guard is simply swung open to the side to allow the blade to be changed in a one-step operation. Not only blade changing is much quicker than with other plunge-cut saws, but the risk of the teeth being damaged by contact with the sawblade guard is ruled out.

When sawing gypsum wallboards, the enclosed sawblade and the slide alongside the cut keep the amount of dust generated to a minimum. Indents on the hose connector make sure that the hose remains in the desired position.

MAFELL is offering the new cordless version in the T-MAX case with two PowerTanks 18M 99 and the charger APS 18M. A stripped-down MT 55 18M bl PURE variant is also available without the PowerTanks or charger. The charger APS 18M, high-speed charger APS 18M+ and PowerTanks 18M 99 can be purchased as accessories. The plunge-cut saw MT 55 18M bl can be powered by any of the 18 Volt rechargeable batteries of other MAFELL power tools.
