International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry
Day two of WOOD-TEC 2017 showed rising interest from visitors
The opening day of the WOOD-TEC trade fair was a success mainly thanks to the presence of Czech top-selling companies in the area of wood processing and furniture manufacturing. Representatives of professional associations and universities met up at a discussion at the WOOD-TEC Arena, and visitors used the opportunity to ask questions. The first of November (Technology Day) was characterized both in increased visitor numbers and the visitors’ interest in displays and exhibits. Visitors also took the time to visit a block of lectures on robotics and automation opened by Karel Krontorád from the Mendel University in Brno, followed by exhibitors’ lectures presenting specific solutions.
Tomorrow (3 November, Furniture day) the WOOD-TEC Arena will be in operation from the very morning; at 10 a.m. there will be a discussion about the shortage of FSC wood for the Czech furniture-making industry, followed at 11:30 a.m. by specialist lectures of a forensic expert on furniture, subsidies and standards. The main point of the program is outsourcing for small and medium-sized furniture manufacturers from 1 p.m. Throughout the day, the Cluster of Czech Furniture Manufacturers will be in operation.
