International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry
WOOD-TEC trade fair was launched in the presence of representatives of foreign incoming missions
The WOOD-TEC International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry was ceremonially opened this morning in the WOOD-TEC Arena in Hall A2, in the presence of international guests from Slovakia, Hungary and Bosnia. They arrived in Brno as part of incoming missions, which were organized under a new concept by the Union of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machines and Equipment.
"Representatives from Slovakia, Bosnia and Hungary came to Brno. They are woodworkers, whether saw operators or manufacturers of doors, windows, pallets, furniture from solid wood and large-scale furniture; there are also dealers of foreign companies presenting their machines. I expect that the mission will be of benefit to them as well as to Czech associated companies and other exhibitors who can create new contacts of foreign companies interested in timber processing machinery and woodworking industry", says Zdeněk Bezděk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machines and Equipment.
The welcome and launch of the programmes of the missions were followed by discussions of representatives of all major industry associations, universities and the Chamber of Commerce. They agreed that timber is a promising and, above all, renewable material, and that it is an ideal element for use in the circular economy. The woodworking industry needs increasingly sophisticated machines and a more skilled workforce in order to manage its production more efficiently and at affordable prices.
