National Show of Livestock to feature 24 breeds of horses at breeders' shows and an extra programme in Brno this April
The programme of the
horse exhibition will take place every day on three demonstration sites: the
Main Arena, the Ring and the outdoor mountain trail.
More than 140 horses will take turns in the Main Arena. Visitors can watch breeders' shows of the individual breeds in the morning and from 11:30 AM onwards; the extra programme will begin with demonstrations of the use of horses.
The following demonstrations are scheduled to take place every day:
- NH Kladruby "PAS DE DEUX" of Old Kladruber horses and a demonstration of Old Kladruber stallions in coach harness
- Cold-blooded horses in a demonstration of log work, in classic and historical farmers' coach harnesses and also in saddle quadrille
- Demonstration of minihorse breed in coach harness and jumping demonstration
- Equestrian demonstration of Icelandic horses – Vikinghorse Milevo
- Valda Horse and his dog tricks – communication with the horse – Valda Team
- Pushball or quadrille of Fjord horses
- Riding demonstration of Shagya Arab horses in period costumes
- Haflingers and costume chariot demonstration
- Equestrian quadrille of Friesian horses - Ladies and black pearls in dressage
- Performance of Monika and Leoš Novotný with their Friesian horses and minihorses
- Parade of American breeds of horses, western sport demonstrations, Ranch and Mountain trail
- Shetland ponies in the coach harness and children's equestrian quadrille
- Demonstration of Shagya Arabians in historic Hungarian costumes and the equestrian possibilities of the breed
- Working Equitation and a demonstration of the use of Lusitano horses
- Equestrian demonstration of the Hucul horses of the Hucul Farm from Janova Hora
- Paravoltige demonstration of the Epona Brno team
- Demonstration of jumping of all-terrain obstacles by Czech and Moravian warmbloods
- Demonstration of the use of Moravian Warmbloods in the coach harness and under saddle
- Irish Cob – riding demonstration and demonstration on reins
- Demonstrations of Welsh ponies in coach harness performed by Jaroslav Jurán and Ladislav Procházka
- Gymnastic handwork – Kateřina Lipinská and Niria (Saturday to Monday only)
In addition to the daily programme, visitors can look forward to special shows:
Saturday:
- Horse polo show – Noe Polo Club
- Training of police horses - Department of Service Hippology Brno – Police of the Czech Republic
Sunday:
- Horse Emergency society – How does horse rescue work?
- Presentation of the Helping to Protect Animals project and a press conference
- Profipress publishers book release: Gymnastic Handwork - Step by Step to Relaxation and Confidence
- Niños de Caballos from the TROJAN Stable – Dzhigitovka
- Mountain trail with Míša Kuklová and guests (outdoor mountain trail)
Tuesday:
- Jana Kotvová – western show – ropes and whips
- Dog trail with spectators' competition (outdoor mountain trail)
Wednesday:
- Training of police horses – Department of Service Hippology Brno – Police of the Czech Republic
An all-day-long programme will also run in the circular arena in Hall F, where there will be demonstrations of work with horses of different breeds, demonstrations of Equipoint – horse games, demonstrations of young horses and demonstrations of junior riders. Spectators can also try handling mini-horses and horse care. At the same time, children will have the opportunity to ride a horse in this arena.
In the same arena, visitors can also take part in a veterinary workshop staged by MVDr. Kateřina Pejčochová. The topics and discussion options will be different every day:
- Saturday 22 April – Why does colic occur in horses and how to avoid it?
- Sunday 23 April – Horse equipment – where does the bit lie and where does the saddle sit?
- Monday 24 April – How the horse moves – illustrative anatomy of the locomotor system
- Tuesday 25 April – How do I know if my horse is sick?
New this year is the outdoor demonstration site in the open area K between Halls P and F equipped with obstacles for mountain trail; the programme will run all day here as well and will feature the longest rope swing bridge in the Czech Republic. There will be mountain trail, trail and ranch trail riding disciplines and many other demonstrations prepared by the riders of the Czech Mountain Trail and Western Riding Club. On Sunday 23 April at 3:00 PM, the Mountain Trail with Míša Kuklová and guests is on the programme, and on Tuesday 25 April, dogs will get a chance to try out the Dog Trail, a course with a spectator competition.
And that's not the end of the programme with horses.
The farrier Petr Šumpela will also have his stall in front of Hall F and it will be possible to watch the process of adjusting and placing horse shoes.
