Award for the best ANIMAL TECH 2017 exhibits
At the ceremonial opening of the trade fairs, Gold Medals were handed over to four winners of the best exhibit of the year competition. At the same time, the awards of editorial boards of three media partners were granted.
The Gold Medals of the ANIMAL TECH 2017 trade fair competition was entered by a total of twenty exhibits. The jury nominated twelve of them for the award and the best four of them were subsequently given the medals.
One Gold Medal was gained by the OVALERT All in One system, which represents a comprehensive solution for improving herd reproduction indicators and monitoring of the health condition of breeds; among others, it reliably detects the rut and allows accurate identification of the animal and its position. The manufacturer is the Dutch company Nedap and the exhibitor is the company CRV Czech Republic.
The next award goes to MooCall – a unique cow calving sensor, the only device of its kind on the market. The sensor monitors contractions and sends the message one hour before the expected arrival of the calf to the world. The manufacturer is the Irish company MooCall and the exhibitor is the Slovak company Merkanta International.
A Gold Medal was also received by the Lely Discovery 120 Collector automatic manure extractor designed for cleaning closed concrete floors. This robotic equipment under pressure draws manure into a tank, which is more hygienic and animal-friendly than traditional methods. The product of the Dutch company Lely is exhibited by the company AGRO-partner.
The fourth prize belongs to a concept of piglet feeding from the German company Sano - Moderne Tierernährung. A comprehensive concept of piglet feeding during breastfeeding is undemanding, with a low purchase price and a newly developed dairy supplement. Editorial boards of collaborating periodicals have also awarded their prizes. The magazine Náš chov (Our Breed) appraised the exhibit called “PM test” from the company LabMediaServis. It is a diagnostic medium for identifying agents of mammary gland infections. The Zemědělec (Farmer) weekly magazine selected from the exhibits that entered in the ANIMAL TECH 2017 Gold Medal competition a hutch for the housing of barren and pregnant sows, which is manufactured by the company AGE and exhibited by the Research Institute of Animal Production. The new hutch meets all welfare requirements while retaining the advantages of individual housing. The publishing house Zemědělský týdeník (The Agricultural Weekly) awarded its prize to the MooCall cow calving sensor, which also won one of the Gold Medals.
