IDET
22.-24.5. 2013
International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies
The Armed Forces of the Czech Republic
One of the dominant features of this year’s IDET is to be the stand of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic. The Armed Forces of the Czech Republic are celebrating twenty years since their formation, and will be putting on a presentation on a truly grand scale.
Demonstrations of hardware, the development of various types of weaponry and equipment used by Czech soldiers when the independent Armed Forces of the Czech Republic were formed – these all reflect the specific needs and focus of the Czech Armed Forces at individual stages in their development. This look back into the past shows the path our armed forces have taken over the last twenty years and what their current priorities are.
The modern equipment and weaponry on display is to include some of the latest weapons such as the CZ 805 BREN assault rifle, which became part of the weaponry of the Czech Armed Forces in 2011, GLOCK and PHANTOM pistols, and the Minimi light machine gun, which is now part of the weaponry of practically all NATO countries, notably Great Britain, Canada and the USA. A presentation of the work of the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre is to highlight opportunities for co-operation among NATO armies, while new developments in aviation personnel training are also sure to be of great interest.
There are to be exciting demonstrations of the martial art Musado, members of the Castle Guard will be appearing in a motorbike show (8 BMW motorbikes and music from the Castle Guard Band), while Riders, demonstrating the synchronicity of man and machine, are also to comprise part of the programme. The Czech Armed Forces are also to play an active part in the expert supporting programme.
