CV90 the world’s most modern IFV – in use and in production
The CV90 IFV vehicle was developed as a family with mobility and agility across any terrain, high survivability, as well as hard-hitting fire power, including air defence. An important factor in its success has been its “future-proof” design and flexibility which gives BAE Systems the flexibility to continually develop the platform with upgrades and new variants. There are no fewer than 11 different variants among the 1,300 vehicles sold to date, in use in 7 countries.
With its relative lightweight design – variants can range from 20–35 tonnes depending on configuration and armour – the CV90 is more manoeuvrable on the battlefield than traditional tanks and carries 30, 35 or 40 mm guns but it can also match the tanks in firepower with the CV90120 which has 120 mm. With manned or unmanned turrets.
