BDSV Exhibitions
The BDSV represents the interests of the entire German Security and Defence Industry at both the national and international level. Its work aims to preserve the competitiveness and viability of the German Security and Defence Industry.
The BDSV consists of more than 100 members, which are globally operating companies and highly innovative SMEs. Both are privately held and profit-oriented.
The German Fundamental Law as well as the Rules of Procedure of the Federal Government recognize the necessity of federations. Therefore, the consultation of concerned federations is institutionalized in the German political system. The BDSV is thus a point of contact for the parliament, the Federal Government as well as for ministries. Moreover, the BDSV maintains relations to other associations, the media and relevant NGOs.
By organizing round tables and dialogues, the BDSV has established itself as the main point of contact in the domain of security and defence industry.
As a consequence of the Europeanization of many policies, including the increasing importance of industrial policies on the European level, structures have become more and more complex during the last decade. Expertise, especially regarding legal issues, is essential. The BDSV is therefore also active on the European level and offers ist expertise to relevant actors.
On the international level, the BDSV is a member of both the European umbrella association ASD and NIAG. Additionally, the BDSV is the relevant point of contact for foreign delegations. The close cooperation between the BDSV and BDSV-Exhibitions ensures the presence of German companies on international trade fairs.
