The gates of two traditional and popular shows opened at the Brno Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 22 May – the 12th International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies IDET and 16th International Exhibition of Fire and Security Technology and Services PYROS / ISET. A total of 399 exhibiting companies from 25 countries are represented and visitors can see their offer their until Friday, 24 May. For the very first time, even IDET will be open for the public the whole time with the most advanced military technology, which is otherwise not so easily accessible to its fans. A military aircraft formation will fly over the exhibition grounds and the Castle Guard unit will present themselves among others.
IDET International Fair in Brno was launched twenty years ago and has become one of the most important events of its kind in Europe with a prestigious role particularly in the new NATO area. Twenty-five countries are represented among exhibitors and beside the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland are opening their official exhibitions as well. The composition of nationalities among previously registered professional visitors is equally varied – these specialists and members of the military delegations will particularly visit the stands of domestic exhibitors. For companies such as ERA, Tatra, Aero, Česká zbrojovka and other leading players on the Czech market, IDET also constitutes the importance of export promotion. An invitation of the Ministry of Defence has been accepted by twenty official foreign delegations led by defence ministers or senior officials of the Ministries of Defence and the Army. Other important foreign specialists will participate in the supporting programme and particularly in the three-day CATE International Conference (Community-Army-Technology-Environment) organized by the University of Defence. Just like two years ago, six prestigious CATE conferences expect to welcome nearly a thousand specialists from Europe and overseas.
Around a hundred companies from 18 countries are exhibiting at PYROS / ISET 2013 visitors can see modern technology and services focused on fire fighting, security and the police force. The largest exhibitors include Továrna hasící techniky Polička, Deva-FM Frýdek Místek, Pramacom Praha, Agrotec Hustopeče, Gumotex Břeclav, Nordstahl Praha or Miele. Among the announced innovations there are those deserving special attention, such as Thermo-Man from the Swiss company DuPont - a unique device that is used to test the thermal resistance in action and it is one of the most advanced systems for evaluation of burns in the world. A life-size mannequin is placed in an environment with a temperature of molten lava, measuring the protective properties of clothing for fire fighters, military, police and industry workers.
