VERA-NG – the world unique passive surveillance system by ERA
Deployable Passive ESM Tracker (DPET) VERA-NG is the unique, highly mobile passive surveillance system for detection, location, identification and tracking of air, ground and naval targets. The system’s design is fully mobile in all three versions ERA offers to military bodies all over the world. The sensors could be placed either on masts of two different heights (12 and 25 metres) with tubular telescope structure or light weighted tripods or quadpods. They can be easily transported either in the special lorries of different brands as an integral part of the delivery or in general purpose vehicles. It has been delivered in a “roll-on/roll-off” configuration including a fully configured mobile command centre containing all the processing, analysis and observation equipment. This ensures rapid tactical deployment in any terrain circumstance.

Are you regular exhibitors at the IDET trade fair? What has been your experience of taking part in the fair in the past?
The company ERA a.s. has been taking part in the IDET trade fair since it was first held in 1994. It has received a number of awards in the past from the international jury at the IDET fair for its technological innovations – for the latest generation of the VERA-NG surveillance system and the recently developed PCL system.

Do you meet the right kind of customers in Brno?
ERA is a leading supplier of solutions for monitoring air traffic and identifying aircraft for the purposes of the army, and it sees the IDET exhibition as a good platform for meeting up with potential customers from abroad and existing customers from the armed forces of the Czech Army which have been using ERA systems, and in particular its VERA surveillance system and its predecessors Ramona and Tamara, since the nineteen sixties.

What do you expect from this year’s fair?
ERA sees IDET as the most important exhibition in the Czech Republic presenting military technology and one that appropriately supplements the many other exhibitions in which the company regularly takes part, such as, for example, Eurosatory, DSEI, IDEX, Fidae, Indodefence, DSA and ADEX.

What interesting items from your company’s range can we see at the fair? What new products are you presenting at the fair?
Our company provides solutions for monitoring the airspace at military bases based on multilateration and the unique passive system VERA-NG for antiaircraft defence and border defence. It has recently expanded its portfolio with the ERIS C2 (command and control) system for military command and control units and the 3R system (Record and Replay InvestigatoR) for uninterrupted data recording during the work of army flight dispatchers.

Who is your range of products primarily aimed at?
ERA has already supplied more than a hundred systems to customers in air traffic control, airports and the military in sixty countries on five continents. The company wants to offer its tried and trusted systems based on sensors and its new developments in its “more than sensors” series, which now comprise comprehensive solutions for state antiaircraft defence, electronic warfare and military air traffic control, to armed forces at home and abroad.
