Leopard 2A7+
Leopard 2 models are considered the best contemporary tanks thanks to their design and updated versions. The newest evolution of this range is the Leopard 2A7+, which draws on experience from the deployment of the previous versions in Afghanistan. What makes the version A7+ different from the older models is mainly its capability of effective operation in urbanized areas. The tank is therefore suitable for both high and low intensity conflicts and for use in a city environment. A big advantage for Leopard tank users is the support program LEOBEN. Ever since 1969, users of tanks and other vehicles from the Leopard range have been associating under this program, which brings them strategic cooperation and lowers the costs of operation, maintenance, servicing and upgrades.
Unlike previous versions, Leopard 2A7+ is equipped with a longer 120 mm gun, which translates into a higher muzzle velocity and a higher efficiency when hitting the target. The gun is compatible with all NATO ammunition including programmable rounds. The combat efficiency of the tank is increased with the use of new optical surveillance systems with both a day mode and a night mode, as well as a higher range, and modifications to the chassis and the interior.
Do you meet the right kind of customers in Brno?
We are regular participants in IDET and unfortunately we have noticed a gradual trend towards a falling number of end customers and smaller opportunities to address potential clients and official foreign delegations. We would like to see this trend change and to see IDET again become more of a specialist trade fair and contract fair that provides the chance of presenting our product portfolio to “decision-makers”.
What interesting items from your company’s range can we see at the fair? What new products are you presenting at the fair?
We are presenting our whole range of products, as has become traditional. Our exhibits are to include the AN/PVS-21 low-profile night vision goggles with a COTM module from the company Steiner, helmets from the company OpsCore and parachute technology from the manufacturer Airborne Systems. We will also be presenting selected products from the company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann for the first time.
Who is your range of products primarily aimed at?
Our company offers a wide range of products with high added value and works with elite manufacturers. We focus primarily on supplying the air force and special units that demand a high technological standard and high quality and reliability. This means that we address customers who often need an individual approach and special products. Orders for police units, for which we are capable of providing equipment, outfit and gear satisfying specific requirements, are also just as important to us.
What do you expect from this year’s fair?
We traditionally meet up with our existing clients and business partners at IDET, and this helps us improve our mutual co-operation. It goes without saying, however, that we would also like to find new customers and establish new business contacts. We expect IDET 2017 to create the right conditions for this, giving us the chance of presenting our products to leading representatives of potential customers and business partners, particularly from Central and Eastern Europe.
