Security is threatened by a wide range of risks today, from natural disasters to cyber-terrorist attacks. It is necessary to be ready for them and face them adequately, therefore governments of most countries annually invest considerable resources in modern defence and security technologies. They come to show the latest of what is on offer in the field to the biennial IDET international trade fair. On 22 to 24 May 2013, the Brno Exhibition Centre holds its 12^th edition which will welcome leading manufacturers and suppliers of defence and security technology from more than twenty countries.

Promoting trade and export

The International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies is one of the most important events of its kind in Europe, with a prestigious role especially in the new NATO area. Its position reflects the traditions and the current strength of the domestic defence and security industry, which is one of our successful export industries. Co-organizer of the fair, the Defence and Security Industry Association, brings together more than 80 companies from the field of defence and security equipment, materials and services. Representatives of the manufacturing, service and retail companies traditionally meet with potential customers from the Czech Republic at the Brno Exhibition Centre. As in the previous years, this trade fair will be attended by official military delegations and military and air attachés from more than two dozen countries which are commercially interesting for the Czech defence industry. This year its for example Bulgaria, France, Hungary, USA, Brazil or Pakistan. The NSPA (NATO Support Agency) will also open their information stand at IDET and the supporting programme of the exhibition will include the 30^th  NSPA Ammunition Committee meeting.

From the perspective of domestic business opportunities, IDET is clearly the most comprehensive presentation of defence and security technology in relation to both the Czech Army and the Ministry of Defence as well as the rescue forces, the police and other trading partners. Everyone will get an overview of the current offer of individual suppliers, news and trends, which could be used in practice.
