The PBS TJ150 jet engine

The PBS TJ150 engine is a single-shaft jet engine composed of a radial compressor, radial and axial diffuser, an annular combustion chamber, an axial turbine and a fixed outlet nozzle.

The engine was developed for applications in unmanned aerial vehicles, practice targets and other types of UAVs.

Advantages include its compact design, low weight with a thrust of 1,500 N, and low fuel consumption.

The PBS TP100 turboprop engine

The PBS TP100 engine is designed for small aircraft and unmanned vehicles. The system is designed for use in both a tractor and pusher configuration.

Key features are its low weight and stable performance of 180 kW. The maximum operational height is 9,000 m and the maximum starting altitude is 6,000 m. The turboprop engine is startable even at temperatures below –30 °C without preheating.

The Safir 5K/G MI Auxiliary power unit (APU)

An APU serves for the preflight preparation of aircraft and helicopters. It generates compressed air to start the main engines and also generates electricity to supply the main electrical systems onboard.

At the end of 2019, we are planning to produce the 1000th device, which is a very good number in the aviation industry.

Are you regular exhibitors at the IDET/PYROS/ISET trade fairs? What has been your experience of taking part in the fairs in the past?
Yes, as one of the renowned manufacturers of turbine devices for the defence aviation industry, we take part in more than 10 of the world’s leading trade fairs on the subject of defence around the world. And, of course, IDET had to be one of them.

Do you meet the right kind of customers in Brno?
Yes. For example, during last year’s IDET, we greatly appreciated the discussions with the Turkish representatives, who dominated the fair. These discussions then helped us bring our products to Turkish manufacturers of defence technologies.

What interesting items from your company's range can we see at the fair? What new products are you presenting in Brno?
We will be presenting two new products from the field of turbine engines which we launched onto the market in 2018. These are the PBS TJ80 and PBS TJ150 jet engines. They are propulsion units mainly intended for various types of unmanned aircraft. We are also happy that, as a notable supplier of Aero Vodochody, we are participating in the successful launch of the new L-39NG aircraft, which, in our opinion, has great application potential in the world. For this aircraft, we are supplying the environmental control system, starter generator and several other devices. The success of this aircraft also means success for PBS products, which are now flying in more than 60 countries around the world.

Who is your range of products primarily aimed at?
With our products, we would mainly like to reach manufacturers of defence aviation technologies, in particular various types of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) or unmanned aircraft. Thanks to the IDEX trade fair concept, we will take advantage of the opportunity to present our propulsion units to end users, including the representatives of several armies.

What do you expect from this year’s fairs?
From this year's fair, we are once again expecting a constructive discussion with the representatives of the world’s leading aviation manufacturers. But we would also like to present the other products from PBS GROUP a.s., including power generating units, foundry products and some special technologies, such as the grinding of gears, surface treatments of metals, and others.
