Gerlach: An armored vehicle for the 21st century

The concept of tactical armored vehicle Gerlach 4 × 4 is unique due to the emphasis on safety, agility, and versatility. With its superior terrain skills, it overcomes 0,5m stair and a 1 m wide trench even in full load. The cabin designed as an armored capsule with an unprecedented SAFETY space of 7.7 m3 is anchored independently of the undercarriage. It enables to carry 6 members of crew with height of up to 190 cm and body weight of up to 130 kg including gear. A highly variable cargo carry a further 1.5 tonnes. In compliance with NATO AEP-55 STANAG 4569 standard, Gerlach provides ballistic protection: Vol. 1, Level 3; and mine protection: Vol. 2, Level 3a and 3b.

Rapid deployment vehicle with excellent off-road performance intended for the needs of Special Forces or rapid deployment forces. It transports four members of crew and equipment including armament and offers a high standard of modularity.

Are you regular exhibitors at the IDET/PYROS/ISET trade fairs? What has been your experience of taking part in the fairs in the past?
Our company is highly aware of the importance of the IDET trade fair. We exhibited here for the first time in 2017 when we presented a prototype of the special FOX four-wheeler vehicle, a concept for a new highly mobile 8 × 8 vehicle, and the Wolfdog tracked vehicle. This year we presented a new product corresponding to the current needs of the armed forces – the Gerlach 4 × 4 tactical armored vehicle.

Do you meet the right kind of customers in Brno?
We see IDET as a prestigious event with a long tradition. The fair is a ideal place to get direct feedback from representatives of potential customers such as soldiers and high-ranking representatives of armed forces. And, last but not least, it is also a place to meet up and hold expert discussions with current and potential partners and suppliers concerning the development and production of our products.

What interesting items from your company's range can we see at the fair? What new products are you presenting in Brno?
We will be placing the main emphasis on presenting the GERLACH 4 × 4 tactical armored vehicle fulfilling all the new requirements placed on vehicles of this type for the 21st century. We will also be presenting a large number of this vehicle’s recent innovations and successful test results that move it from the conceptual level to being a fully functional vehicle prepared for live deployment in the most demanding conditions.

Our company's R&D potential is also underlined by the presentation of innovations to our special FOX vehicle.

Who is your range of products primarily aimed at?
First and foremost, the main representatives of our potential customers among the armed forces of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries. We see our products as being strong and competitive in terms of both their operational and economic parameters. Our company's projects are, for this reason, aimed at all markets on which the replacement of older types of vehicles is taking place.

What do you expect from this year's fairs?
We also see IDET as an event that can provide significant support in establishing new products on the domestic market and aid the development of international activities. We are confident that presentation in Brno will again help us increase awareness among potential customers. We also expect discussions to take place in Brno with representatives of the Ministry of Defence on the strategic vision of the Czech Republic into the future and to find interesting information about the country's current and new plans in this area.
