MINERALS BRNO
18.-19.11. 2023

International Sales Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils, Jewels and Natural Products

Supporting exhibition on the minerals in the region of Jeseníky will be supplemented by contemporary jewellery stones and jewellery by Karla Votipka

Every year, the autumn edition of the Minerals Brno fair offers a supporting exhibition dedicated to certain minerals or localities. This year‘s supporting exhibition will thus be dedicated to three topics. The supporting exhibition titled Mineralogical Riches of the Region of Jeseníky will offer the exhibition Contemporary Jewellery Stones prepared by our traditional exhibitor Jan Čepelík. He has organised an unusual exhibition where you can see everything with your own eyes. Another supporting exhibition will offer examples of the work by the renowned jewellery maker Karel Votipka.  A special article on the jewellery made by Karel Votipka will be published shortly.

 „Contemporary Jewellery Stones“ by www.Sperkove-Kameny.cz

The supporting exhibition focusing on jewellery stones and organised by one of our traditional exhibitors, mgr. Jan Čepelík, is intended not only for those who need to find their way through jewel stones, their terminology,  imitations and artificial stones.

As the term semi-precious stone was cancelled in  1955 and various minerals are set in jewels, the term for these jewels used widely abroad now is „gemstones“ or „gems“ – jewellery stones.  This exhibition will offer gemstones that are currently used both as raw and cut in the shape of cabochons, nuggets and beads.

The exhibition is not designed as an exhibition offering detailed information on the composition and density of minerals etc., which is something that a curious visitor can find in the literature.  On the contrary,  you will have an opportunity to see the gemstones here “live“. The gemstones are sorted according to the mineralogical groups with localities as the same type may have a different appearance based on the locality.

A separate part of the exhibition will be dedicated to coloured gemstones, imitations as well completely artificial stones that appear in shops and often confuse the customers.  We provide the type of material of these stone where we have managed to identify it.  The section dedicated to the treated and artificial stones will be accompanied by text – therefore, the visitors will be able to get to knot what artificially grown crystals look like and how they are formed. Thanks to this exhibition, the visitors will be given a chance to better distinguish synthetic stones from the natural ones, which will make it easier for them to buy minerals and jewels.

You will find a shop selling gemstones by Jan Čepelík at the MINERAL BRNO exhibition at stand no. E 01.
