Virtually all industries and companies around the world use ball screws from the Kuřim based company KSK PRECISE MOTION.

In the 1960s, the construction of automated, numerically controlled machine tools promoted the development of new and more advanced components. The trapezoidal screws used so far were not suitable due to their low mechanical efficiency. This was a serious obstacle and as a result, trapezoidal screws were replaced with ball screws. The high mechanical efficiency of ball screws and the ability to determine clearance have caused their mass expansion.

The production of ball screws began in Czechoslovakia in 1966, as a newly-built part of the TOS Kuřim company. In 1996, the production of ball screws became independent under KULIČKOVÉ ŠROUBY KUŘIM, later renamed KSK PRECISE MOTION.

Since the beginning, emphasis in KSK has been placed on product innovation. This is evidenced by the fact that it is regularly placed at the top of innovatory competitions as well as four Gold Medals awarded at the International Engineering Fair in Brno over the past twenty years: for a high-speed ball screw in 1999 , for a telescopic ball screw in 2007, for a caged ball screw in 2012, and for a ball screw with beds injected into the nut in 2017.

Over the last few years, KSK has made extensive investments. The company has significantly modernized its production halls, and fundamentally supplemented its technologies, measuring instruments, and tools. It successfully sells its products to more than 30 countries.
