Brief characteristics of the exhibit
The robot is intended for rescue teams as a supporting automated tool for finding people living in debris or avalanche. It contains a unique modular robotic platform with various sensoric systems for detection of presence of a person behind a barrier (e.g. debris or avalanche). In particular the use of bioradar and georadar brings a new dimension to automated searches of persons, whereas other sensors (thermal imager, sensitive microphone, ultrasonic sensors, etc.) significantly increase the chance of finding a person in an unknown environment. The robot can be controlled in a wireless or wired way, but can also work in an autonomous mode using localization, map building and automatic navigation in an unknown environment. Robot is decontaminable.
