Brief characteristics of the exhibit
The exhibit is a prototype of a compressor using the chemical-thermal cycle of hydrogen absorption and desorption into the intermetallic structure of metals to compress hydrogen. The concept of a hydrogen compressor used consists in the use of a suitable metal alloy that allows to absorb hydrogen into its structure at low temperature and pressure. After heating the alloy, there is a significant increase in pressure, which allows the hydrogen to be compressed without directly contacting the moving parts, thereby increasing process safety.
