Founded in 1970, The National Research and Development Institute for Welding and Material Testing - ISIM Timisoara is a centre of scientific and technical competence that has over 50 years of tradition in the fields of welding and material testing.

Main activities of ISIM Timisoara are the following:

• Fundamental and applicative research in welding and material testing;
• Constructive development for specialized welding and material testing equipments;
• Training/qualification of welding and NDT personnel;
• Certification of welding and NDT personnel;
• Certification of quality/environment management systems for welding;
• Scientific advice, expertise, prognosis, failure analysis, inspections;

Diversification of innovation and technology transfer services of CENTA-ISIM, POR project SMIS Code: 140391

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To provide integrated innovation and technology transfer services by CENTA-ISIM to companies in the automotive and textile components, leather and footwear sectors in the West Development Region with the aim of improving competitiveness and their added value on the market.

CENTA-ISIM aims to create a bridge in the field of innovation and technology transfer between the economic sector and the research through an online trading platform INNOCENTA that provides relevant information and innovative solutions to the problems faced by the economic sector in the field of automotive components, textiles, leather and footwear.

Also, the online trading platform INNOCENTA provides information regarding industrial property rights legislation, scientific events, funding opportunities, partnership opportunities and facilitates trading of intellectual property (patents, products, services and innovative technologies).
