The International Engineering Fair in Brno is one of the most important European trade fair events in the sector, where the Assembly of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic annually hands awards to successful companies and industry personalities.

Jiří Žák from FARMAK has entered the Gallery of Industry Personalities in 2022. The Award for the Development of Industry and the Region went to the company Brose CZ, the award for Successful Small and Medium-Sized Company went to the company ZEBR and the Industry 4.0 Award went to ELKO EP, a manufacturer of electronic devices.

"All the awards we have handed out this year are inspiring examples for others. They show that everything is about focus and diligence, finding effective solutions and, above all, innovation," Jaroslav Hanák, President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, stated appreciatively.

Jiří Žák, founder of the company and later Chairman of the Board of FARMAK, successfully transformed a former Olomouc-based state enterprise into a modern and successful chemical and pharmaceutical company in the early 1990s.

Award for a Successful Small and Medium-Sized Company

This year's award went to the company ZEBR, a globally operating company that makes machines for the production of shading technology, specifically exterior and interior blinds. Over its thirty years of existence, it has become a leader and European number one in the sector.

Award for the Development of Industry and the Region

This award went to the company Brose CZ, which develops and manufactures components for the automotive, such as seats and locking systems. The company is a stable employer in the Moravian-Silesian and Zlín regions.

The company has become a pattern of excellent behaviour of a foreign investor in its region.

Industry 4.0 Award

At this year's Assembly, the Confederation of Industry, together with the award partner Česká spořitelna and with the support of the 2nd Economic Transformation, handed out for the third time the Industry 4.0 Award, this time to the company ELKO EP, a leading manufacturer of electronic equipment for home, office and industrial automation. It won this award for the deployment of a digital system that completely tracks the process of individual products, on which with a barcode or a QR code is applied, which after scanning lets each worker or machine know exactly what product it is and what operation to perform on it.

The Česká Spořitelna Award for Contribution to the Transformation of the Czech Economy for Medium-Sized Family-Owned Czech Companies went to Strojírna Oslavany, which has created an exemplary concept of a digital factory in a medium-sized enterprise.
