FIRE FIGHTING TANKS FOR CHERNOBYL NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DELIVERED BY KOHIMEX
In December 2016 we have completed the construction works of two firefighting tanks for the New Safe Confinement (hereafter – NSC) firefighting systems at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. We were a Subcontractor of NOVARKA, a Joint Venture composed by two French companies – VINCI Construction Grands Projets S.A.S. and Bouygues Travaux Publics S.A.
The two firefighting tanks with the total volume of 1,648 m3 each (usable volume of 1,530 m3 each) are FM approved. The tanks have been erected in the demanding conditions within the framework of the construction of the world’s largest land-based movable structure.
The NSC Project provides a controlled and weatherproof environment where the existing contaminated structures and radioactive materials of the destroyed nuclear reactor could be safely held and processed during next 100 years.
