The thirtieth jubilee Salima food fair 2016 is approaching. The gates of the Brno Exhibition Centre will open welcome experts, businessmen and educated public to the Salima / Vinex, MBK and INTECO international food fairs, which will be held in on 17 to 20 February 2016 at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Together with these fairs, the International Fair of Packaging and Printing EmbaxPrint will also begin.

Same as with Salima 2014, there will be separate presentations of technology and finished products. The Hall "A" will present food of Czech and foreign origins; it will house foreign participation stands and various suppliers of food, ingredients, alcoholic and soft drinks, sweets, coffee, tea and delicacies. You will find tastings of wines and beers from microbreweries here. State institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Federation of the Food and Drink Industries of the Czech Republic and the Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism will also have their representation there.

The expert section of SALIMA offering a complete overview of the processing sector in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe will be installed in the Hall "V". The complex of SALIMA international food fairs includes the International Milling Industry, Bakery and Confectionery fair MBK and International Fair of Equipment for Retail Trade, Hotels and Catering Facilities INTECO. These fairs will present the leading manufacturers and suppliers of food and food technology, grain milling, bakery, confectionery, wine and equipment for shops, hotels and catering worldwide. It regularly presents the latest trends in all of these fields, and is also one of the leading international business meetings for the RETAIL and HORECA areas. The February SALIMA fair will feature more than 400 exhibitors and brands, not only from Europe but also from Africa and Asia. Their alphabetical list can be found on the website salima.cz.

The Salima fair will feature one novelty, a MICROBREWERY FESTIVAL, which will be held under the auspices of the Czech-Moravian Union of Microbreweries and in cooperation with TERMOTECHNIKA BOHEMIA, s.r.o., SQHM GASTRO and the publisher of the magazine Pivo, Bier & Ale. The long wing of Hall "A" of the Brno Exhibition Centre, will offer the connoisseurs of beer and beverage professionals from the food sector a chance to taste more than 100 beers from 35 Czech and Slovak microbreweries. Some will even brew some special beer for this occasion. During the microbrewery festival, there will be lectures conducted by celebrities of the mini-brewery world taking place on a small stage, a presentation of the Czech-Moravian Union of microbreweries, which brings together more than 300 microbreweries and who will also award the Czech and Moravian Beer Crown 2016. 

Beside beer, visitors to Hall "A" will be able to taste exquisite samples of wine while other exhibitors will hold tastings and testing sales of food and beverages. Experts can also enjoy a supporting programme of the fair, which will be packed with lectures and seminars on current topics.

The food Fairs will be complemented by the international fair of packaging and printing Embax Print, which will take place on 17 to 19 February in Hall "G". The joining of the food fairs with the EmbaxPrint fair also proved successful in previous years and the main reason is that a high percentage of the packaging industry production is directed to the food industry. Professional visitors will be able to see presentations by more than 120 domestic and foreign exhibitors and brands. This time trade visitors will again have the opportunity to see a "live" packaging line, PACKAGING LIVE 2016 where a packaging machine located at the beginning of the line, will be packing not soap this time, but bakery products, specifically bread twists. It will be essentially a miniature factory - flowpack, robots, printers for printing on different materials, carton gluers, labelling machines, wrapping machines, a dynamic bench testing pallets stability, a special platform and other technologies that are an integral part of the line. At the same time there will also be a tasting of genuine pastries and coffee in the project café.

The Brno Exhibition Centre traditionally announces a competition for the best exhibits, the Golden Salima on the occasion of the International Food Fairs and the Packaging and Printing Fair. The competition is designed for exhibits displayed at the Salima, / Vinex, MBK, INTECO International Food Fairs and the EmbaxPrint fair. The winning exhibits selected by the expert jury, will be presented to visitors during the fair.
