The complex of food fairs SALIMA will be definitively abolished in 2020
The SALIMA food fairs complex will not take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre even on the alternative date of 19–22. November 2020. The Brno Trade Fairs agreed on this with professional associations and key exhibitors. The main reason is the continuing uncertainty in the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and related government measures of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, which do not allow the fair to be held with daily attendance of 5–6 thousand people.
"Due to current measures for mass events, we cannot organize SALIMA food fairs. We try to make decisions as responsibly as possible to all partners and exhibitors, " said Jiří Kuliš, General Manager of Trade Fairs Brno.
Negotiations with trade unions show that they consider this complex of trade fairs to be an important marketing tool and are definitely worth holding it. Due to changes in international trade fair calendars, the organizers together with professional associations are now looking for a suitable date for the SALIMA / SALIMA Technology / MBK / G + H / VINEX / EMBAXPRINT trade fair complex in 2021. Furthermore, these trade fairs should take place in a two-year cycle in odd years.
