Pavilion of the City of Brno

The Pavilions of the City of Brno and of the Land of Moravia were placed in the entrance area to the left of the gateway. There was a relatively rare agreement between the architects (Fuchs and Chroust) about the dimensions, concept and materials used for both of these pavilions. The open ground floor connects two levels – the entrance area and the lake surroundings. The colour variety of the ceramic tiling interestingly enlivens the entrance space dominated by the shining white of the main palace. The architect's unusual solution to the open spiral staircase completes the building with a beautiful sculptural feature.
