Quotes About the Fair
Miloš Zeman, President of the Czech Republic
The fact that there are 150 Chinese exhibitors and about 500 Chinese guests at this trade fair opens a new phase in cooperation between the two countries.
Milan Štěch, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic
For a man who comes from engineering, it is a balm to the soul when one can visit such a wonderful fair.
Bohuslav Sobotka, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic
I am proud that we have this beautiful Exhibition Centre in Brno and the wonderful tradition of the International Engineering Fair, which developed into one of the most important fairs in Europe and possibly in the world.
Jiří Kuliš, CEO of Trade Fairs Brno (at the Assembly SPD CR)
A trade fair cannot exist without a strong domestic industry. If there were no industry in this country, there would not be this fair.
Jiang Zengwei, Chairman of CCPIT
China‘s participation presents 150 companies representing all major sectors of Chinese industry. There are leading Chinese industrial companies and the exhibition demonstrates a great interest of China in cooperating. We are presenting our highly advanced products and latest technologies for industrial development here, which will certainly contribute to further cooperation between the two countries as it has been growing at a rapid pace recently.
Jiří Kuliš, CEO of Trade Fairs Brno (speech at the official opening of the China Pavilion)
Our idea is that China produces billions of cheap socks and toys. But China is a modern country with modern infrastructure. You prepared the „China Expo“, which shows that China is on the right track from Made in China again to Invented in China.
Cheng Yongru, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the PRC in the CR
It is the first time that China participates in MSV as a partner country. It is a historical moment for the Czech-Chinese relations and an opportunity for the development of concrete cooperation and trade ties. Chinese industry is developing at a dynamic pace, which offers Czech technologically advanced and competitive companies multiple opportunities for business, and MSV is an excellent platform to develop cooperation.
Jan Mládek, Minister of Industry and Trade
I am glad that this trade fair gives a positive signal about the Czech economy and that Industry 4.0 is again the theme of the fair.
Vladimír Dlouhý, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce
Let me congratulate the Trade Fairs Brno to an extremely successful fair. It is about the twentieth fair that I participated in and I think this one was one of the best.
Petr Vokřál, Mayor of the City of Brno
One can see that the fair makes sense, you are doing well and you have something to exhibit.
Jaroslav Hanák, President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (at the official opening of MSV)
At the Assembly we have expressed an ambition to be among the 20 most competitive countries of the world. Dear Prime Minister, I am glad that your text says that the industry is thriving, which this fair has confirmed.
Jiří Kuliš, CEO of Trade Fairs Brno (at the official opening of MSV)
The trade fair has not been endangered by the Internet in recent years, but the economic depression. Trade fairs have been around for a hundred years and they will be here for another hundred years. People still need to meet, get to know each other and do business face to face.
Vladimír Bärtl, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade
For industry and engineering, MSV is something like the Karlovy Vary festival for the film industry. Thanks to all those who exhibited here, we value them like movie stars.
Filip Geerts, Director General of the European Association of Machine Tool Builders
This year‘s MSV in Brno surprised me the most by the high number of exhibitors, the design and technical level of individual exhibitions as well as focus on key themes of the Industry 4.0 campaign. I would also like to appreciate the interest of the highest state officials of the Czech Republic in the issues of engineering.
4ISP, Carl Fruth, Majority Owner
Although our company 4ISP is a relative newcomer to MSV – we are only exhibiting for the third time – this year we rented the whole pavilion Y only for ourselves. We welcomed over ten thousand customers who were most interested in fibre lasers for cutting. Overall, we concluded contracts worth twenty five million CZK and sold twelve machines directly at the fair.
ABB, ABB Robotika, Anna Vondráčková, Marketing Manager
The International Engineering Fair is a great place for establishing and reinforcing business relationships, presenting technological innovations, sharing new knowledge and holding discussions on topical issues. This year, the exhibition stand of the company ABB again attracted enormous trade interest and interest from educational institutions and the media.
AIR PRODUCTS, Martina Svobodová, Marketing Specialist
We always take part in the WELDING fair once every four years. This is a matter of prestige and an event we have to attend. What’s more, we also found additional potential customers here this year. Judging by the number of new contacts we obtained, this year’s event was an improvement over the fair held four years ago. I have to say that we were satisfied.
ALFA IN, Ivan Řídký, Head of Division
Our company simply has to attend the fair in Brno. If I had to judge, I would say that this year’s fair is the best in the last five years or so. The technical standard of the exhibits is improving, as I would expect, and the number of exhibitors and visitors is also on the increase. Many visitors came on the first day which has not been the case in the past. The staff working on our exhibition stand were constantly on the go. We presented a number of new products, as we always do. We were extremely satisfied.
Alfleth Engineering, Pavel Kunert, Business Representative
We were happy to come to Brno to introduce our new long-spinning automatic lathes. Attendance was even better than we expected. Our exhibition stand was visited by people who knew what it was about. The interest was great, the fair was successful for the company. There were even customers from foreign countries, mostly from Slovakia and Austria.
Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce, Radek Kopecký, Contact-Contract Manager
More than 600 meetings were held over the course of two days. We had large groups from Turkey and Russia here, for example, and there were a lot of Slovak companies here as well. Thirteen Korean exhibitors also took part in the event. I think this year’s event was an enormous success. There was a good balance between Czech companies and foreign companies, and the cross-border meetings held represented great added value.
DATRON-TECHNOLOGY, Jiří Malůš, Director
I am very satisfied by the fair this year. I was pleased that in addition to Czech and Slovak customers we had foreign ones from Poland and Hungary. It can be partly attributed to our novelty, DATRON NEO, which we presented in the Czech and Slovak premiere as our latest achievement in the field of machine tools. It revolutionizes the operation of the machine tool, and its control touchpad had swarms of visitors around it.
DMG MORI Czech, Petr Vladík, Business Manager
I can only speak positively about the fair; the company liked this year‘s MSV very much. We presented 14 machines in Halls P and Z and all of them were new or upgraded. Business meetings were held continuously one after the other. We were visited by a number of existing as well as new customers and we have established new contacts. We were satisfied.
Festo, Václav Lacina, Marketing Manager
The trade fair was successful for the company, attendance of our stand was higher than the previous time. We visit the fair every two years. It is of benefit for us, because of keeping in touch with customers, whom we meet all in one place. We have brought virtually all sales representatives to Brno, together with technical support and a lot of products. We presented all our novelties.
The Foundry Association of the Czech Republic, Josef Hlavinka, Executive Director
In terms of area, the stand of the Foundry Association is the largest in the history of the FONDEX trade fair. We have 16 member companies here. We wanted to display a cross-section of the development of our field. Foundries have recently been introducing information and control systems to a large extent in connection with the growing pressure on the quantity of castings and on deadlines and quality.
Gühring, Václav Poustka, Commercial and Technical Representative
The visiting attendance was good for the duration of the fair. We held business talks on our stand throughout the whole day and were all extremely busy. There was truly great interest in our products. We are concentrating, first and foremost, on new projects for our existing customers with whom we are discussing investments into the future. This was our primary goal in Brno and proved successful – there generally isn’t the time for this during our day-to-day work during the year. We were satisfied with the fair.
Hüttenes-Albertus CZ, David Hošák, Sales Manager
We are a big manufacturer that has been operating on the market for fifty years, so we are known by most visitors. For us, participation in the trade fair is a matter of course and above all a social event, where it is nice to meet with partners and say what we will continue doing together.
ISCAR ČR, Zdeněk Roubíček, Director
It goes without saying that we were satisfied with the fair, as we always are. The visiting attendance was good and we made new contacts and held a number of business meetings. We also presented a large number of new products, which is what the fair is for after all, and saw great interest in them.
Ludačka Machine Tools, Zbyněk Ludačka, Director
This year‘s fair was a success; we signed a contract with the company ZKL Brno in the amount of 1.5 million euros directly at the fair. Attendance at the fair was good; you could see that interest in MSV increased on the part of exhibitors. Like every year, we have used it for business meetings and a number of other negotiations and we gained an overview of innovations in the engineering industry.
Misan, Miroslav Morávek, Marketing
We have been exhibiting at the engineering trade fairs for twenty years. The services are of the highest standard by far. The company has been satisfied; the good thing is that we can reach new clients here. We introduced a novelty, a five-axis machine tool, which had its premiere in the Czech Republic. There was also interest in a technology of laser sintering of metal powder – this machine has also not been presented in the Czech Republic yet. The company was satisfied by the trade fair.
The publishing house Nová Média, Jan Homola, Specialist Forum Organiser
The record number of 477 registered visitors at the 3D print conference showed that Czech companies have a real interest in this topic. This is also evidently the largest conference of its kind to date anywhere in Europe. The first year of the conference entitled Industrial Robotics Forum also attracted considerable attention, with 120 registered visitors attending the event. There is currently an enormous trend in “co-operative robotics”. I would wager that we are going to see dozens of co-operative robots at MSV in a year’s time, just as we could make similar predictions about 3D printers three years ago.
Pilous – pásové pily, Karel Doubrava, Director
Our company presented two new products at the engineering fair in Brno, as it always does. There were more visitors than there were last year, and we signed a decent number of orders right here at the fair. We were pleasantly surprised to see that companies are interested in large sophisticated saws. To put it simply, they now have more orders than they did and need to buy modern machinery. We are a traditional exhibitor at the fair and the fair has been extremely useful for us, as it always is.
Pressentechnik, Vladimír Šimůnek, Director
We have been coming to the fair for 17 years, but our stand is always visited by someone new who we haven’t met before and this is of great importance to us. Taking part in the fair has a great business impact for our company and has always paid off. I have to praise BVV Trade Fairs Brno in all respects, particularly their organisers. We have several hundred customers and have the chance at the fair to hold consultations with them on their long-term plans. The fair is hugely important to us.
Renishaw, Josef Sláma, General Manager
We liked it at the fair and always like coming to Brno as we meet up here with representatives of companies that use our machinery. We also find out from our customers what they need and what alterations to our machines they would like to see. The Internet is not the-be all and end-all, and our customers need the opportunity to touch our equipment with their own hands and see what it can do with their own eyes.
SA Trade, Pavel Dubský, PROMA Product Manager
This year, the Proma brand is celebrating its twentieth anniversary on the European market. We invited our exclusive partners to the fair and also made a large number of new contacts. We are delighted that our old clientele keeps coming back to us for new machine tools and are expanding with the same brand. This year’s fair was a success for our company in terms of both the visiting attendance and the business done at the fair.
Stema-Tech, Karl Stelc, Marketing
Our company can give the fair an extremely positive assessment. Trade professionals were interested in our new products, particularly our laser that can burn a hole through 25 mm black steel, the only one of its kind anywhere in the world. We even sold three machines at a total value of around a million Euros right here in Brno. The fair also helps us determine the regions in which companies have an interest in buying our machines.
TAJMAC-ZPS, Marek Hala, CNC Division Sales Manager
Attendance in Brno was good as usual. Brno holds a very good standard, be there a crisis or not. Every year we normally have some two hundred meetings and try to introduce our technology. This goes especially for the machine that won the gold medal this year. Moreover, we have been meeting with dealers not only from the Czech Republic but also from other countries. MSV is Europe‘s best trade fair of its kind in terms of attendance.
TRUMPF Praha, Markéta Machačová, Sales of Machinery
The fair was a success for our company as we closed a number of contracts right here in Brno. We also held a large number of business talks. The visiting attendance was good this year. We take part in the fair on a regular basis, and will be delighted to come again next time.
Tungaloy Czech, Tomáš Štourač, Business Representative
The fair as a whole was useful for our company. A lot of people came to our stand and we got to know a number of potential new clients who want to do business with us. We already have a large number of dates for meetings arranged on the calendar. The fair fulfilled its purpose completely for us. We were always on the go on our exhibition stand and there will be a great deal of work to do after the fair has finished. We presented more than a thousand new products this year.
Valk Welding CZ, Jakub Vavrečka, Manager
Our participation in the fair can be considered a success and the visiting attendance was good. It goes without saying that we had a number of meetings arranged in advance, but we were also visited by new clients. I would assess this year’s event extremely favourably, and I think the overall standard of the fair was high.
Yamazaki Mazak Central Europe, Stanislav Kovanda, Business Manager
We have been on the Czech market since 2012; our exhibition has been growing in Brno every year since then. Year after year, we have more visitors; we keep our statistics about the trade fair in Brno, with specific questions on machines. The company was very pleased with the fair. We even sold one machine to a customer from the Slovak Republic worth about 180,000 euros.
ŽĎAS, Stanislav Růžička, Head of Marketing and Promotion
We belong to the regular participants of MSV; a proof of this is the high number of visitors to our stand. We were visited by top representatives of the company from China, with whom we merged. We were happy with our participation and the customers could convince themselves that we are a strong company and virtually nothing has changed towards customers. I must say that the fair has a higher level than last year.
