International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry

WOOD-TEC 2013: Comprehensive offer for wood-processing and furniture industries

On 22nd – 25th October, the Brno Exhibition Centre will welcome again, after two years, the international fair for wood-processing and furniture industries WOOD-TEC. This is the leading fair in Central Europe. The preparation is reaching its end and the organisers see this year in optimistic terms. “Compared to the previous years, the companies started registering earlier. The fair will again be attended by all major companies operating in the market in the Czech Republic. The visitors can look forward to a number of new companies that will present themselves at the fair for the first time“, says Miloň Mlčák, WOOD-TEC fair manager.

Currently, we are dealing with the hall occupancy. Traditionally, the fair will take place in Halls P and F and adjacent outdoor spaces. Thus, WOOD-TEC will take place again in the most modern part of the Brno exhibition centre. The exhibitors are already working on their exhibits, their architectonic design and presentation. This year, the largest exhibitors include Epimex, TEKMA, BeA CS, STM, ITALCOMMA, ASAMER, BALJER-ZEMBROD, EGGER CZ, Hettich ČR, Panas, PILART, ROJEK prodej, Blum, Schachermayer, HOUFEK, FELDER KG and a number of others.

There is also a rising number of those who will attend the WOOD-TEC fair for the first time, coming not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad, including ABIRON, Alpi-dýha, Dřevomateriál, Foerster Tecom, Freewood, GreMi KLIMA, Ing. Martin Václavek, Jiří Mynař-strojírenská výroba, LUNIT (Slovak Republic), NEXNET, Pollmeier Polska (Poland), PREBENA ČR, Rűttgers Organics GmbH (Germany), TECE DECOR (Turkey), VB Leasing CZ, Woodgrain and others. “We are very pleased about the interest of 30 new exhibitors in our fair. This proves that the companies still consider the fair as an important marketing tool“ says Miloň Mlčák.

Most exhibitors will introduce innovations
As mentioned, the preparation for the October WOOD-TEC is in full swing. The exhibitors are working on the stand design and presentation. Most of them intend to come to the fair not only with their existing product portfolio but mainly with innovations.

WETO AG from the Bavarian town of Tittling will introduce a brand new version of the professional programme VisKon V7 for complete timber-frame structures. The company will present 3D CAD/CAM software for roof trusses, wood structures, timber-frame structures and stairs. The visitors can collect a freeware programme for stairs, Scalinata, right at the exhibition stand along with a freeware version of the roof truss programme, WETO Liberta. ”The WOOD-TEC fair has become an important link between the company and our existing customers and it also provides an opportunity to establish new contacts in a pleasant environment,“ says Hana Janoušková, business manager of the company.

The company Felder-Group CZ plans to introduce new launches. “Besides other things, we plan to introduce a new type series of surfacers and thickenessers and new types of CNC wood-processing centres“, says Ing. Tomaš Vystyd, executive.

Professionals can look forward to a number of interesting presentations, innovations and novelties. The list of exhibitors will be available on the fair website before the fair.

Advanced materials and design in furniture making as well as timber-frame structure innovations
Traditionally, the organisers will arrange a specialist supporting programme in cooperation with Mendel University in Brno. This will offer the visitors presentations, seminars and conferences providing up-to-date information in the field of wood-processing and furniture making. The supporting programme will also include attractive topics and the visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the future and possibilities of using new materials, modern design and technologies in furniture making. Information concerning timber-frame structures that start gaining ground in the Czech Republic will also be welcome. Topics such as the current trends in this industry and haptic effects of wood will be introduced. The specialist programme will not omit educational projects. It will introduce a project of interactive educational portal for furniture makers and the furniture making information system „NIS“. The programme offer is truly interesting and the professionals’ will thus be offered a lot to choose from.

Visitors registering on the fair website can enjoy a discounted admission fee.
